Is it possible to have a sleep training regression? We started after the new year and after a week or so we were able to put him down for naps three times a day or sometimes 2 if the afternoon nap was long. Bedtime is usually around 6:00-- sometimes as early as 5:45, sometimes as late as 6:45ish but never much later on a normal day. Two night wakings to feed. Anyway, all was good and suddenly he's night waking 4 times a night and he is waking about 30 minutes after he is put to sleep and screaming like we never trained. Naps were a mess today-- I put him down and he never screamed but he just laid there and babbled. I feel certain he is teething but I know many experts say that this has no impact on sleep? He is also fussy at the breast so I usually feed him the first time he wakes up at night (around 9:00 now, we had been shooting for 11:00) because I am not certain he's not hungry. We nurse in a darkened room so I know he is not distracted...he just prefers his thumb! I am wondering if these unusual night wakings are a result of teething, not eating enough, or is he waking up at the beginning of a sleep cycle and just needs to cry? How can I feed him at one point and not feed him at another point and still maintain consistency? Aaaaaah!!
