I don't know about you but all I want to dress my babies in are sleepers (footed PJs). It's just so much easier than dealing with onesies and pants.

Totally agree. I dressed my LO in sleepers every day until she was 6 months old. Daycare would joke about it but whatever.

Yup! Zip up sleepers are even easier! Or gowns if we are really just staying at home.

dd and ds lived in those for 9+ mo! so sad that they stop making them after 9mo clothing!

That's my plan too. Footed sleepers are freaking adorable!

I think it's hilarious that people like to throw shade at people who do this. It is a baby. There is literally no reason other than just wanting to to put them in any more than a sleeper.

Omg YES. It took me a couple of months to discover their awesomeness, and then it was all footed bodysuits, all the time! Now at 2.5 years old, they're still our PJs of choice.
pomegranate / 3350 posts
Agreed! Both my LO's only wore them their first winters. I used the button ones during the day and saved the zippered ones for night.
pomegranate / 3438 posts
I only dressed my LO in an actual outfit if we were going somewhere. Otherwise he stayed in sleepers until around 4 months old (summer started and it was too hot for sleepers so he hung out in onesies).

Totally agree. For some reason when DD started daycare I felt some pressure to start dressing her in onesie/pants every day, like she was going out in public like a real person. It was liberating when I decided to hell with that and just kept her in a footed sleeper all the time. I don't know why they even make the ones with snaps, though. Zippers are so much easier.

@kodybear: I've got a bunch in 2t! Children's place may make them even bigger.

Even though it's a pain, DS has always gotten dressed. I'm always in pjs at home though
Has anyone tried the new rompers by the Zipadeezip people?

Haha, I'm weird about wearing "pajamas" when it's not time to sleep. I change DD into pants and onesies when I get her up. She's got around the house clothes and going out clothes. No shade though! I don't wear a lot of lounge clothes myself. I just feel better when I get dressed so I project that onto DD.

Totally the odd one out, but I hate dressing LO in her sleeper. I always do at night, but once she's up I'm so thankful to put her in her onsie and pants! She scrunches up her legs soooo much that getting both legs in the sleeper at once, while trying to snap/zipper it is so hard! I have to be a ninja!
Not going to lie I have used an arm/elbow to keep one leg down while sticking one leg in.....I break a sweat most nights getting her pj's on....

i definitely felt like that throughout the newborn and early infant phase. At some point, the onesies and pants got easy and were more fun.

First three months almost always in sleepers. But since then, I like her in separates. I like that getting into jammies is part of her bedtime routine.since crawling, separates are better I think because she always manages to get her feet out and it drags behind.

@Mrs. Pickle: ditto! It drives me nuts when DH keeps him in a sleeper even though logically it's no big deal. I just feel weird about pajamas during the day. I also feel guilty because he has so much cute clothes! He needs to wear them before he outgrows them!

My kid is almost 2 and unless we're going someplace special she still lives in her sleepers! They're so warm and cozy.

@MrsBrewer: I totally agree!! I loved sleepers from 0-6months but once they roll over and start crawling it's nearly impossible so I gave up.
honeydew / 7463 posts
Yes! For the first 2 months that's all he wore! Preferably zippered (he was a screamer when being changed and the zipper was so much faster).
pear / 1718 posts
@bluestriped bee: Yes!! You are so right. At 3 months when I went back to work, daycare would always say "oh look at your cute PJs!!!" I caved and started dressing her in onesies and pants. In my defense, I put a clean sleeper on her in the morning!! Next baby will wear sleepers longer!
I do wish they would zip from top to bottom, like Halo sleep sacks. It would make diaper changes easier when my spaz is flailing all limbs.

The first time I ever put my son into a onesie was for his 3 month checkup and he was horrified - why are you trying to rip my face off with thaw clothes, mama??!!
papaya / 10343 posts
My kid was born in May and I never put pants on her until late September. Even when we went out. lol.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
@MrsBrewer: I'm with you. We use sleepers at night but during the day I definitely prefer to put her in normal clothes. She didn't really wear sleepers at all the first few months because we were still swaddling her at night at that point.
nectarine / 2243 posts
People call me out allllll the time on having her in pajamas when we are out. I mean, she's in a one piece Tea romper and people are throwing shade. Wtf. I like normal clothes just as much as the next person but some days just call for a singular article of clothing with easy access to the diaper region. She's 9 months.

I always dressed my kids in outfits during the day and sleepers at night. I didn't feel like real clothes were that hard.

I never minded onesies and pants.
I liked getting them used to getting dressed.
grapefruit / 4418 posts
Agreed! My winter baby lived in them until spring! Ignore any potential haters. My mother was mad I didn't dress her in frilly dresses she bought...in March (in the northeast!)
grapefruit / 4584 posts
I liked sleepers as pjs only, but my kids were summer babies in a tropical climate, so let's fave it - they weren't wearing much more than a onesie as an outfit anyway!
honeydew / 7917 posts
Both of my kids lived in sleepers in the fall/winter months of their first year.

I would be team sleepers with twins too. Seriously though I loved sleepers at first but girlfriend looks so cute in jeans.

Sleepers are super easy, and no judgement at all. But I actually prefer getting my 4 month old dressed in onesies and pants every morning. She has so many cute clothes, and I want a chance to use them all. And we do get out of the house most days. She was also in just a onesie for most of her first month--born in august--it was too hot for pants or sleepers.
