Woohoo! 5-8 inches expected...I love a surprise day off with my husband and LO! Does anyone else have a snow day today?

Same for me! My husband will have to work though. No snow days for reporters
It's our sixth snow day of the school year, so I'm feeling grateful today that I'll be on maternity leave when the days are made up in June. Although that does mean I'm unpaid today.

Not today but I had two days off and 3 snow days last week so I haven't worked in a week. The alarm today was brutal! Enjoy your snow day!

@gilmoregirl: My husband works in television news! But he is off on Mondays and Tuesdays. I hardly ever get a day off WITH him. Tell your husband to stay safe! This is our second snow day so we will just have the regular 3 day weekend for Memorial Day.

What do you do, @swedishfish? My company never shuts down for snow/ice. They just expect you come in or you take PTO if you can't get in.

@gilmoregirl: Its our 6th snow day this year too. But with a six month old, I'm not complaining about an extra day with him. Just don't ask me that in June.
BTW - Did anyone see the forecast for the next storm? Looks like another snow day Wednesday.

Schools are closed, it's the 5th snow day this school year. I really think something has to change, it doesn't make sense to keep closing schools like this. It's really difficult as a working parent, and we have back up care!

@jennyg: I would appreciate time home with a baby as well...I'm in that 3rd tri exhausted period, so I'm glad to have a day to catch up on life a little after traveling this weekend.
@looch: I mostly agree with you on that, but we've only had one closure this year that wasn't truly dangerous, bad weather. It's been a really tough winter, and I can't imagine how difficult it is for parents who have to scramble to find care or burn through PTO.

Nope, but last week, we had 4 snow days, so today is my first day back in almost a week! Enjoy your day off!

I'm supposed to travel to a place tomorrow that just got hit with 5in. Hmmm may have to rethink that drive!

We Were on a 3 hour delay but now we are off.

Not here! We've gotten about a foot of snow over the weekend, but that's par for the course here. It takes a MAJOR event for there to be a work snow day. (The schools have had at least 9 snow days so far though).
