We have my cousin's wedding and it's two hours away. It will be the first long car ride with my 3 mos old son. I'm so nervous! Sometimes he sleeps, sometimes he cries.
And the wedding is at 5:30, so we have to leave at 3:30, and probably won't be coming home until about 9pm. So it will be a long long night. ahhh!!!

Aw good luck!! Do you think you should pack some extra stuff just in case you decide after the long day you'd rather just check in to a nearby hotel rather than do the long drive back after a long day? That's what I would do just so I have the flexibility to do whatever I want.

@MamaMoose: well, it's kinda in the middle of nowhere. The only places out there was probably icky motels. Plus, we're babysitting my nephew early tomorrow morning so we gotta be home.

We went to Toronto (2hrs) last weekend with our 5 week old. And she did really well! She generally does pretty well in the car as long as we are moving. But we went armed with a pacifier anyway just in case. Pretty much 90% of the way there she slept in and out. Towards the end when we were more local traffic she started crying so we gave her the pacifier and she calmed down.
On the way home she slept the whole way home then another hour when we got home! We were so -pleasantly- shocked.
P.S. We had the option to stay the night as well and decided it was just easier to go home. Less things to pack!

You guys are gonna do great! Your little guy will sleep in the car, hopefully. He may be very awake during the wedding though. Hopefully you can just feed him to ensure that he's quiet! Good luck!

i'm sure you'll all be fine! there will probably be lots of people around to snuggle him if he gets cranky & you can always take some breaks in the car ride. maybe he'll be so tired after all that he'll sleep the whole way home=)
