Yes for sure! It is fuzzy now (selective memory) but that didn't end for a few weeks I think.

Yes and it's normal!! All your hormones are going crazy trying to level out to pre-pregnancy levels as well as supporting breast feeding! I would cry for pretty much no reason. I'd say it got better at about 3 weeks? Bad pretty much disappeared now at 6 weeks pp.

The Day Three hormone dump is tough. Nobody told me about it.

Oh yes. I wasn't really hormonal during my pregnancy (although I was a total B right before I gave birth) but I cried at the drop of a hat the first 3-4 weeks or so. Mostly happy, some sad.

Also fun hormone-related pp things: night sweats, body odor (D swears I didn't smell but I wanted to shower like twice a day because *I* could smell me), and around 3 months, hair loss

ETA: D told me one of his favorite stories is when he came home from work to me sobbing...ugly sobbing with hiccuping and everything...while nursing E when he was a few weeks old. He ran into the room in a panic, and rushed to ask if something had happened to E, or to me. "No--nothing. I'm just" *hiccup* "so" *hiccup* "happy. I just" *hiccup* "love him" *hiccup* "so much!" And then I burst into fresh tears!

The PP tears were way worse for me...I was an emotional wreck!

Oh gosh, this "sad tears because he's already a week old. His birth was such a joy I feel sad that I'm getting further and further from it" was SO me!! I felt nuts and it was ridiculous because I was soooo anxious about him "growing up" and leaving me. I would think about him being a teenager in the blink of an eye and my heart would physically ache. In my case, I have a history of anxiety, so I went to the OB at exactly 1 week pp and started on anxiety meds. I knew that it would be bad if I didn't catch it right then.

I think the hormonal mess is pretty normal though. I've heard to give it 3 weeks and if you're still really sad/emotional, consider talking to someone. Big hugs!!!

Btw, I'm 3.5 months pp now and soo much better. I even put away his NB/0-3 month clothes last night and brought out his 3-6 month stuff without crying. A couple months ago, even the thought of that would make me tear up!

Oh yeah! I think I cried everyday for a good two weeks. I cried when we brought her home. I cried once when we had a ton of visitors & I finally got to hold her again after not holding her for a while. I was almost always crying for who knows why lol

I cured for the first 3 weeks or so. My husband thought I had gone totally insane.

Oh my god I cried so much! I knew I was starting to get over it when I thought of her dancing with Dh at her wedding and I did not burst into tears. I sobbed during Brave. It gets better.

Yep, to echo pp, I was wayyyyyyyyyyy more weepy/hormonal/emotional postpartum than I was pregnant!

Weepy, so so weepy! The waterworks would come at the drop of a hat for no reason...lasted about 4 weeks or so.

I was a hot mess for the first two weeks. It calmed down after that. I felt so silly for crying all the time, but I could not stop for the life of me! Hope it gets easier for you soon...

Yessss I did DH like that for the whole first week and a half I told him how I actually like my pregnancy experience and labor and how I wish I could rewind and do it over but still have my LO at the same time. The new emotions that comes with being a mom are amazing and I love them I never had tears of joy before giving birth two weeks ago.

Way worse. The PP hormones are kinda terrifying.

Oh yeah. It's enough to make you feel like a crazy person!

@Corduroy: My (awesome!) birth instructor said the same thing. In fact she said milk production is tied to the hormone shift around day 3-4, so when people complain that they still have no milk the first thing she asks is whether or not they've cried yet.
