Not voting since I have only used one, once (an Ergo with my friend's baby for half an hour- very comfie). But I want to see what people say!

I have heard multiple times that the Baby Bjorn isn't comfortable, but also that some babies only want to be facing out, while Ergo only faces in. That's why I think I will get a Beco Gemini, but I haven't tried out out yet.

We went with the ergo. After researching it a bit, we decided that outward facing wasn't something we wanted to do because of the hip/back issues for LO. The ergo was THE soft structured carrier and we all love it. DH wears her happily as do I. Even my FIL has worn her on a few occasions and commented on how comfy it was and how happy she is in there

LOVE the Ergo, it's sturdy and comfortable and we used it the most over the first year. That said, DS absolutely hated the Ergo in the beginning but loved facing out in the Baby Bjorn. We used the Bjorn until he was big enough to look around and sit up higher in the Ergo.

Beco Gemini! I've heard it's easier to put on than the ergo. I love my beco carrier.

Beco Gemini. Hands down. Forward facing and super easy to get on/off unassisted.

I have both the Ergo and Babyhawk Mei Tai and I really like both of them.

They both have padded shoulders and evenly distribute LO's weight across my torso. LO prefers the Ergo so I leave the Mei Tai in the car as an emergency baby carrier.

We have an Ergo and both DH and I love it. We use it all the time. DH is a big boy for his age (15 pounds at 13 weeks) but we can wear him for a pretty long time before our shoulders/back get tired.

We have a manduca carrier. Similar to the ergo, but German made I think?

I tried the ergo but when I compared it to the manduca, the manduca was by far more comfortable. The ergo shoulder straps are wider than the manduca which is great if you are of average or above size but I am quite small in the shoulders so it was far too wide and hang off the edges of my shoulders. I felt like I was constantly fixing up the straps.

The manduca straps are just that bit thinner which made all the difference. It also has an in built infant carrier which is great if your bub is on the smaller side when born so you can use it straight away. The ergos infant insert is way too hot for the climate here in Australia and I didn't feel like paying extra for it when I just bought the carrier! Also, there is a part of the carrier which you can unzip to make it longer if you have a larger/ older child.

With DS we had a Baby Bjorn and he hated it, and we didn't use it more than once. DD loves the manduca and falls asleep in it straight away every time.

Would definitely recommend!

@pelikila: have you used it with a little one? LO is seven weeks and pushes his feet so hard against the waist strap it loosens while I wear it. I want to love it but I'm frustrated!

I haven't experienced any of the other soft carriers but, I LOVE the Ergo. I can put it on, put her in it and get it secure without help from anyone. She is 7 months old (today!) and she fits perfectly in it. I had a hard time when she was still tiny with it but now that she is bigger, I love it. I want to wear her everywhere in it! Last night, I had to run into the grocery store for some meat and put her in it just for that quick run.

@pelikila: unfortunately I'm in a small town and don't think anywhere carries them.. I'm going to email bobs this weekend though!

We have both the Ergo and the Becco Gemini. I like the Ergo because the straps don't drag on the ground when you put it on/take it off. But the Gemini is great b/c you can carry facing in or out.

@foodnerd81: Yes, I think they're both equally comfortable. The Ergo has a wider butt support, but our LO doesn't seem to prefer one over the other. In terms of comfort for the wearer, they are about the same. The biggest pain is with the buckles of the Gemini, you'll need two hands to get them off because they require that you simultaneously, push a small button while undoing the latch. I guess that's good b/c it makes them super secure. Also the Gemini is a little more difficult to get on, but not bad once you get used to it.

ERGO! I tried almost every other carrier out there, but the Ergo was definitely superior. Wish I would have bought it sooner (I didn't end up buying it 'till LO was around 7 months old). I use it almost every single day (LO hates the stroller and only wants to be carried) and it also saved my life at the airport, when we were on vacation, etc.
