That would be me...my husband is an electrician, so he's actually quite handy but gets so frustrated assembling things that I just prefer to do it. That said, he did do our crib - I helped

I'm not allowed to put things together anymore. When I put together our dining room chairs I literally had to take it apart twice and then DH had to take it apart again to put it together right. It's just easier if he does it right the first time, less work for everyone. And especially when it comes to LO's things, we all feel better and safer if he does it.

LO slept in the bassinet for the first month and a half and because of Jewish superstition we didn't put the crib together until after she was here anyway. If you're LO's not going to be in a crib during the newborn stage that's always an option.

My husband is super handy, and if he puts something together, it will be done perfect and precise. When I was single I could put things together if I had to, but over the years I've gotten super spoiled with DH, so I just let him do everything.

I got excited when we got our Snugabunny swing in a while back and I was going to put it together while we watched tv. But I immediately became overwhelmed with all the parts, so back in the box that went for DH to tend to.

We often do it together. It's especially helpful for those instruction manuals in pictures, since we can each interpret the series of pics and try to puzzle together over what's the next step! But since I put together lots of ikea (and ikea-esque) furniture before we were together, it still brings me great pride sometimes to do it myself

Either one of us will do it. My dad, who works in construction, did me the favor of teaching me how to DIY. Sometimes it's still nice to have an extra set of hands to help, even if we're capable of doing it on our own.

There's no option for "both of us". He likes to assemble things, but I'm handier than he is.

We usually work on it together. I will read the instructions to him and get him the necessary pieces for each step, and then he will do the actually assembly. He's really good at that stuff so if I am confused and tell him the wrong directions he can usually figure out right away that what I'm telling him to do doesn't make sense : )

@jholler25: That snugabunny swing was a PITA to put together! I walked away from that one and left hubs alone!!

@MamaMoose: Yes, it scarred me taking all of that out of the box. When the Snugabunny chair came in later, I didn't even pretend that I would maybe help with that. I carry the baby, DH puts together the annoying stuff....I decided that's actually a pretty good compromise!

DH. I could do it myself but DH can do it WAY WAY WAY faster.

Depends on the project, we split baby stuff, but he does most of it. For our crib, we paid the furniture company to do it for us! It took them 10 minutes it would have taken us hours of bickering...no thank you!

When it came to the baby furniture I put everything together while DH was at work. I had some trouble with the glider (because the instructions were crap), and the crib really needed two people to put it together (I managed, but I still have a bruise on my toenail).

As far as the bigger stuff we usually assemble it together--most of our big stuff is IKEA because my in-laws have us a gift card a billion years ago and we haven't replaced it yet. When we moved into this place I put our bed frame back together, but we've done it enough times at this point that I can do it alone without the instructions.

DH is perfectly willing and able to assemble stuff, but so am I...
