My husband's been working really hard at work and has lately been receiving a lot of recognition for it, winning a awards, etc. I want to do something nice for him to congratulate him but am drawing a blank. We are trying to lose some weight and eat healthy for an upcoming trip so anything indulgent that's food related is out, as is his favorite beer, wine, etc. I also can't splurge too much money-wise right now. I'd love to hear any suggestions!

Following, I'm in the exact same position actually. I think my DH is up for a huge promotion soon at work!

1) new workout gear
2) a few of his "favorite things" - I do this for mine for holidays sometimes and fill a basket with his favorite book/magazine, sometimes some toiletries, nutritional bars, gift card to Starbucks, just little trinkets that he likes.
3) something related to a hobby - different depending on whether he golfs/fishes/hunts, etc.

DH has left me cards when I've been faced with huge projects lately. Honestly, that alone means a lot to me. Just the fact that he took the time to pick it out and write how much he appreciates me inside of it.
Could you maybe do that, and also include plans for a night out for the two of you to celebrate? Is there an event (sports/music/etc) he might enjoy going to?

If it were my husband, I'd likely book him a tee time and text one of his good friends to meet him there.
