I want to get my DD a special clothing item she will wear a lot for her 2nd birthday. No special cleaning instructions.
My Mom got her a whale sweater that I *love* that she will likely wear for photos this spring from Mini Boden. I got her a polka dot pink sweatshirt from HA last summer. I just like to get a few items that feel really custom or unique since she usually wears pretty basic/simple clothes- Old Navy and hand me downs mostly.
Ideas? Favorite brands? Etsy shops?

Does she wear dresses much? Maybe a cute, versatile dress that she can wear on its own in the summer and then in the fall over tights and a tshirt?

@LindsayLou: right now she will wear whatever I put her in. I don't have many dresses for her.
I just sorted through all of her 2T stuff this week- stuff I have picked up on sale and tons of hand me downs.

I like to get Boden dresses - she's had some that could be worn as a jumper or separately as a sleeveless dress in summer. I just got her a Lily Pulitzer dress but it really only works for summer.

A little denim jacket or other lightweight, cute outerwear option for cooler days might be fun.
I bought something similar to this at a consignment store when I was pregnant and can't wait for it to fit my kiddo.

My mil is a big Nordstrom shopper and often gets adorable clothes from the brands Peek and Tucker & Tate. Super super cute but more expensive than I'd buy for lo myself on an everyday basis. Also I really like Winter Water Factory, but again more expensive than I generally would buy myself.

@youboots: what about a really fun pair of shoes? That way she at least gets to wear it all the time. I love the Livie and Luca Molly shoes, they are so sweet!

Janie and Jack has some insanely cute stuff right now. Super cute valentines stuff that could still totally be worn year round.
And they have some really cute French inspired things like a striped shirt that says bonjour, etc.
Agree with @Cole: that a super cute and fun pair of shoes could be good! Something sparkly that she'll love but can be worn a lot. Gold or silver maybe.

@Cole: They wash very well, and my 2 year old always manages to stain the heck out of hers every time she wears them. Both of my girls have several and they still look new. That being said, they don't go in the dryer, but I have a lot of things I dry flat anyway, so I don't mind.
