we have an open house tomorrow night at our potential pediatrician's office. the nurse called to make sure we were all set for tomorrow, and to ask about insurance. she said to come prepared with all of the questions we could think of for the doctor. i thought of a couple (breastfeeding support, last minute appointments), but is there anything specific i should definitely ask the pediatrician to help me decide yay or nay?

I always like to know if they have a 24-hour nurse line that you can call. I'd also ask any questions you may have about vaccinations/schedules.

I had a list, but actually all of our questions were answered when she went through her "get to know us" speech. Big ones for us were
1) Lactation consult on staff
2) Same day appointments
3) Rx policy: as in how "easy" are they with perscripting meds that may not be necessary. (I don't want DD to be over-medicated like I feel I was growing up)
4) Nurses hotline
5) Hospital visits after she is born: how frequent, contact information needed, ect. -
In addition to what has already been mentioned, I wanted to know who would cover her practice if our pediatrician was away on vacation, etc. She is a solo practitioner, and she has to take off sometimes.
