My mom said in the beginning that I should be a SAHM. I don't know why when she wasn't really one herself! But then my MIL told me that she is so glad that I am keeping my career, which felt really good. I think she really regretted being a SAHM so that was based on her personal experience.

Lately, I have become increasingly annoyed at my mom because she seems to question how I am handling my tantrum throwing toddler. We were on the phone last night and I just had to end her line of questioning with "I am her mother. I have MY way." She is 5000 miles away and really doesn't have a clear picture of what goes on around here.

my mom always has something to say. It could be as simple as suggesting my LO get a hair cut or something really annoying like "you should stop breastfeeding" (everything starts with "You should..." I try to explain to her my reasons for doing the things I do, but sometimes she doesn't get it. So now I just tune her out. Sad, but its the only way I know how to deal.

my mom was all about co-sleeping (and still is). but even she had to agree that sleep training was great when she sees what a good sleeper charlie is.

she does have something to say about everything, but i don't take it as nagging so it doesn't bother me too much. since she lives on the other side of the us, i do want i want anyway.

I'm not even pregnant yet, but I can already tell you that my mom will NOT support our choices. My dad, on the other hand, is very quiet and easy going so I think he'll be happy as long as we are. My mom, though, has already said things like "If you don't like how I do things, then you don't have to bring my grandchildren to see me."

Our LO isn't here yet, but I can see some things causing issues. I don't have a hard time discussing things with my parents, but I can see the IL's having some trouble. I think I'm going to be a little more strict than what they are accustomed to my SIL with her LO's, and so they're going to want to let things slide/not reinforce certain rules at their house.... we shall see!
