We don't have a maid service yet (waiting until I'm pregnant with #2 to hire one) but I found a company that uses Green/Eco-friendly products that we're going to hire.
Was this something you considered before hiring someone? Or did it not matter?

didn't matter to me, but our service uses all Method products, which I love!

I prefer to provide my own products for our housekeeper to use as opposed to her bringing her own products with for a few reasons: 1) I can control what products are used 2) some services will dilute their products to make them go further, which i disagree with, and 3) mops, brooms, etc shouldn't be shared from house to house as bed bugs, fleas, mites, lice and other gross things can be pass around. I prefer to spend my own money to ensure the best products are being used and used in the way I want.

Our cleaning lady is on a "break" now for health reasons. When she comes back she asked what I thought about if she went green. She also is a friend of mine so we talk a lot. She said she would have to raise her prices if she did though. I told her I thought it was worth it and encouraged her that it was a good decision. Im excited come Jan. she starts back up!!! : D

We provide the products. I have a lot of natural stuff because the smell of cleaning products gives me migraines.

i think it's a nice benefit, especially if you have kids. but it's not something i looked for. and now that i have to buy my own supplies, i'm trying to buy more "eco-friendly" stuff.
