Was your first home a "starter home"' or "forever home"?

Definitely a starter home, it is much too small to be a forever home.

We will probably look to sell and buy a bigger house in the next few years.

Starter. It's very comfortable for us and one LO, and even two young LOs, possible. We do want to do some work to it, like adding a deck, so we intend on staying here a while. But it won't accommodate a growing (as in, LOs growing older) family for very long. Even if we only have one child, I can see it being cramped with two adults and a teenager. I think it will work well for us for 5-10 years depending on our needs, but it's not a forever home. It's what we could afford at the time.

We're fairly young and we didn't want to break the bank trying to find a forever home, so ours is a starter! It's a 3-bedroom townhouse, which will do nicely for the next 5-7ish years. After that we'll probably look for a 4 bedroom with a nice yard. We're already in a good school district, so we may try to stay in the same area.

@PrincessBaby: I know exactly where that is! I run the bridge everytime I go home! Omgosh that's so exciting and such a great location. You're going to LOVE it! Our lease is up may 2014 so it would probably be around then. DH wanted to be at his job for a couple more years anyway so it would work out great. Ughh just thinking about your move makes me so jealous/excited. Although I'm scared if I move there ill gain 100lbs!

Starter. After adding four kids to the mix we moved into a bigger house!

Ours is an in-between... I see it as a 5-10 year home (we've been here about 2.5 yrs). Next house we want to either have it built and custom, or move to a new city and have new adventure as condo in urban area.

We don't have a house yet, but when we get one, it'll be a starter home. We can't afford our forever home yet, but I don't want to have to rent till we get there!

I'd say neither. We could continue living in it but we probably won't. It's a house we bought for just us before we were married but has enough space for us + 1. We'd likely add on a bit if we stayed long term (mainly it only has 1 full bath). We will probably move to a different city/state within the next couple of years, and knew that before we bought our house. So definitely never planned it for forever.
