My parents named me Margaret because: a) it started with an M like the rest of the family & b) they'd never heard of a woman named Margaret who wasn't strong
and Katherine for Katharine Hepburn because of all her humanitarian efforts. (Though I never realized until just now when I googled her that she spelled it with an a!)

My mom apparently read my first name in a book somewhere (Danielle) and my middle name was my great grandma's name (Faye). My sister was named after a little girl that my mom used to babysit and my brother is a junior

My parents both went away and prayed/thought about my name separately and they both came back with the exact same name. So it was meant to be 
They also said they wanted a name that sounded happy when they said it.

the story behind my name is pretty boring...my dad didn't like any of the names my mom picked out, so she needed to come up with another girls name...she heard the Fleetwood Mac song Sara and like the name. she added the 'H' because she liked the more old fashioned look. my middle name is Ann, which is my moms middle name, we also had the same initials(until i got married)
my brothers names are much more "meaningful" names i guess you can say. one brother was named after both of our grandfathers and the other brother has the same name(just first and middle names reversed) as my dads brother who died during childbirth(and sadly my dads mom passed away as well)

Well, originally my name was going to be Johnathon, but they found out I wasn't a boy after I was born, so my older sister and brother came up with Abigail (which means Father's joy) and Ashley (coincidentally also means "joy!").
I'm a pretty happy person, so the meanings fit.

My mom just liked my first name and my middle name was my paternal grandmother's middle name. None of us have really meaningful names. One of my sisters was named after a waitress at my mom's birthday party 6 months before she was born and I came up with my other sister's name.

My mom named me from a friend and from my godmom. Technically my first name means "Eye of the Day" and my middle name technically means "fifth month" but is also similar to a word that means "illusion" but I'm guessing my mom didn't really factor any of that in. She just liked the names.
