Spooky October POAS: 6+ Months

Happy Monday ladies. I def O'd on Saturday and think I covered my bases
Here's to hoping for this cycle. So far I've been doing well on the Clomid. I've been getting headaches but nothing I can't handle. Is it weird that I actually feel better on Clomid? I'm hoping this is a good sign. My moods are better, I'm less bloated and irritable.

@LoveHope: When do you think you'll test?

@doxielove: Well, they say AF can delay so I think I'll test 11/2.

My monitoring appointment is tomorrow- hoping for two good follicles and an IUI Friday morning. I'm a little nervous, but the last two scans at this point were good, so it should be ok. Super tired from the meds though!

@LoveHope: Ahh, you could be our first November BFP!!

@AmeliaBedilia: Wishing you all the luck in the world - I hope this IUI does the trick so you can avoid IVF! Are you on the same meds as IUI #2?

AF is expected...Saturday, I think. I'll test on Monday 10/26 if she's MIA over the weekend! Then, onwards to my 1st clomid cycle!

@doxielove: yes- femara 5mg and ovidrel as trigger as well as a second ovidrel 5 days later to boost progesterone. I'm also on Cabergoline for elevated Prolactin and I recently had to increase the dose. The side effects of it are terrible. Really hoping we can avoid IVF!

@AmeliaBedilia: I'm really hoping that this third IUI does the trick for you!

@doxielove: I'm hoping you don't need to move on to clomid!

    Crosspost:

The ultrasound showed one 19mm follicle on the left (good, everything is always on the right and had me worried), two others 13mm and 12mm. He told me IUI Thursday or Friday. Thursday morning is problematic for both of us at work, plus Thursday is only day 11. They told us Friday morning was booked except too late (we are supposed to be going out of town). DH called me on the way to work and asked if I felt they were rushing it out of convenience. I do. We think that Saturday would be the ideal day, but they aren't open. One day early would be ok, but triggering the morning of CD10 makes me nervous- that going too fast could compromise egg quality. So I called back and said we'd figure something out and take the late Friday morning, except someone had just booked. I asked for an exception. She spoke to the RE who said they can't do Friday morning, but that Thursday is fine. I think going early also means the two little follicles have no chance of catching up. We are leaning towards just doing times intercourse and doing the third IUI next cycle. What would you do? I'm a little worried they will bill us for the two ultrasound (we have a three IUI package) but DH says $400 is not a big deal in the scheme of things. Also, my ovidrel was left in the cooler in the fridge anextra four days and I know it's fine for 30 days but worried if it will still book for next cycle. (My cycles are usually 25-26 days.) DH and I both don't have a good feeling about this IUI. I have liked the RE but I feel like they prioritize convenience too much and DH and I are contemplating switching docs though the other option here is not great. Sorry for rambling but I'm flipping out here. Advice please!

@AmeliaBedilia: Hmm, I have no specific IUI advice, but it sounds like your gut is telling you to skip the IUI this cycle, do TI, and do IUI #3 next cycle. I'm sorry you're stuck with this situation

@AmeliaBedilia: I'd go with your gut. Especially if this is your "last" iui cycle, you want to feel good about it!

I *think * AF is due Sat, but not sure. I'm working a crazy amount this week, so it's giving me something else to focus on.

@AmeliaBedilia: I agree with the other ladies. I would trust your gut feeling and roll the IUI to the next cycle.

AF is here. What an incredibly short cycle.

Here's a toast to you, clomid! May you finally bring me my BFP this cycle!!

@AmeliaBedilia: Did you end up skipping the IUI?

  18. LoveHope

    kiwi / 689 posts

@doxielove: I've been moody but I usually am before AF arrives. I'm trying not to symptom spot since I hear Clomid symptoms mimic pregnancy symptoms
I've had a few headaches here and there but that's it. No crazy Clomid side effects thus far.

@doxielove: yes. RE called, said to still do ovidrel to help egg maturation/ovulation and progesterone production. I did first one last night so I should O Saturday morning. We've been BD. fingers crossed!

    @LoveHope: Thanks!

We got lots of BD in. Hit O-3, O-2, O-1, and O+1. I started prednisone yesterday and tomorrow is my ovidrel booster. My left ovary finally ovulated, and I'm left handed, so I'm hoping this is a good sign. (The goofy things we tell ourselves.) My RE estimated 7-10% success on meds only, but that was right after my low AMH and prior to my improved follicle count and good response, so I'm hoping 10% is enough.

@AmeliaBedilia: lol I'm also left handed and the month I got a positive I felt like my left side was ovulating. I took it as a good sign too! Lol lucky left handed power to you 😂😜

@doxielove: I'm back on clomid this cycle (nov POAS) after a few months off. Hopefully that will do the trick for us

Hi again ladies. I need to catch up. We lost our babe last week at just over 10w. It didn't feel right from early on. My HCG was low and ultrasounds showed it was measuring behind. I opted for misoprostol instead of a d&c and had to take two rounds of the drug. I have a scan on Friday to see if it was a complete miscarriage. I don't know what our plan is. The doctor who I saw at the EPAU referred us right away to the fertility clinic and we have an appointment for December. I'm glad we are going to get checked out. This is our third loss so maybe there is something going on.

At any rate I'll catch up with all of you on the November board. We will wait until I get AF back to try again so that'll likely be a December POAS.

    Good luck to you ladies.
@AmeliaBedilia: I think you made s good decision to wait for your next cycle to do IUI. And way to go on the TI! I have my FX for you.

@Crystal: yes I just saw on another thread that you will be TTC this month! Good luck! I haven't ventured into other threads yet but I read that you are still sad. I'm still mourning my December loss and now this one. I think I will always be sad about the babes I lost so I get it. It's hard for me to even think about TTC. We are all here for each other no matter what happens.

@delight: ❤️ I love the support system here.

I love the holidays, and this is always when I miss not having children more acutely. I want to be able to do all the Santa stuff and holiday traditions and trick or treating... I am happy to be moving on, just sad to still be stuck TTC.

@delight: I'm so sorry about your loss. I can't even begin to imagine how your feeling. Please know that we are all here to offer support in any way that we can. I'm glad you are getting checked out by the fertility clinic so they could help in any way. Will this be the first time you're seeing a fertility specialist?

@Crystal: I too love the holidays but I have to admit that it's the most difficult time of year for me. Most of my friends have children and its difficult seeing all the wonderful family activities they do. It's been a difficult few weeks.

This is a wonderful support system here.

@delight: I'm so, so, sorry about the loss. Big hugs. Hopefully you can get some answers from the specialist!

@Crystal: I really feel for you. I can't imagine the pain of IF PLUS the miscarriage(s). So very unfair.

October has really sucked! We need some happy news! I think I'm going to start the November thread...
