Hey ladies, I'm new here so I figured I'd introduce myself a bit! I'm Brittany Just passed the 6-month TTC mark so I have found myself looking for like-minded women to talk to about all the fun we're having in our journey to baby! {Totally kidding on the fun part, no one ever tells you how much TTC is the OPPOSITE of fun!!!}
Cycle Day: 15
TTC Cycle: 7
Ovulation Date: Just had a positive OPK this morning so either tomorrow or most likely Sunday, CD 17
POAS Date: If I ever make it past 12 DPO without my temp dropping or spotting then it would be 13 DPO- which will probably be October 1st
Baby #: 1
What's up this month: Last month I struggled with my cycle ending; I just felt like things were lining up and my blood test from my Gyno came back normal so I just really thought that all the supplements I have been taking were finally kicking in and it was going to be *THE* month! This cycle I'm trying to be a little more open-minded and not get my hopes up... again.
For Fun: What are you (or your LO) dressing up as this year for Halloween? We haven't discussed it yet! We keep bringing up funny ideas of what we're going to do when we have a child to dress up with us, I guess we need to focus more on the NOW huh? Haha

For Fun: What are you (or your LO) dressing up as this year for halloween? No idea! Hopefully a newly pregnant woman

Baby #: 1
What's up this month: induced a period with Provera and started synthroid in addition to metformin hoping I actually ovulate this cycle
For Fun: Probably won't dress up we don't usually go out but I will be handing out candy to our millions of trick or treaters

I was in the Sep POAS board but have had problems logging into HB to be able to keep up with everyone. Here goes for Oct! ...
CD: 16
TTC: #2
OD: I think it will be CD 19 or 20 so let's say Sep 21st
POAS: Oct 5th if it's possible to wait that long. I'm hoping to take the TTW a little more in my stride this month!
Baby: #1
What's up this month: With school stress returning to normal levels, I'm going to try and clean up my diet as I've been surviving on sugar for the last fortnight and the weight it creeping back on. I have a sweet tooth so this will be difficult!
Halloween costume: I never celebrated Halloween growing up and it's definitely less celebrated in general in the UK so I'm not sure we'll be doing anything at all for Oct 31st!

@snarkybiochemist: I've been taking synthroid since May--I think it really made a difference in the quality of my cycles.
I will be cheerleading this month! I'm not too keen on officially joining, though I will be tracking and trying. Good luck in October to all!!

TTC Cycle: 17 (ugh - I'm including NTNP cycles in that count too though)
Ovulation Date: 9/30ish
POAS Date: 10/15
Baby #: 1
What's up this month: First round of testing with our RE! I go in tomorrow morning for blood tests, then next Friday I do the HSG. Kind of sucks because we can't BD until after we do it, and if that is O day we will be cutting it really close. Might push everything back a month. My husband will also get his sperm tested this month so hopefully we will have some answers soon.
For Fun: What are you (or your LO) dressing up as this year for halloween? I found a really cool witchy looking dress at Goodwill months ago and bought it specifically with Halloween in mind. So probably a witch!

Well, I don't know if I will POAS in October after all. My RE's office just called and said my Rubella immunity is low and I need to get a booster before we can move forward with a treatment plan. If I get the booster I can't TTC this cycle.
I think it's kind of weird that they make women get a Rubella booster... I mean how many women get pregnant without knowing their MMR status and give birth to perfectly healthy babies? We basically have herd immunity in the U.S. so the chances of being exposed to Rubella are pretty slim. I'm annoyed that I will have to wait another month to try.
Has anyone else run into this issue?

Ovulation Date: Oct 4 I think
POAS Date: Oct 16 (My birthday, I know cruel, but I want to be able to have a drink on my b day safely)
Baby #: 1
What's up this month: It's my birthday, and Halloween too! My favorite time of the year for sure! I started going to psychotherapy to help me relax and learn so coping mechanisms to help relieve my stress and worry. I think it is going to help.
For Fun: What are you (or your LO) dressing up as this year for halloween? I was thinking maybe I would be Wednesday Adams!
kiwi / 680 posts
@bizwitch: I remember they tested me for immunity during my preconception appointment a year ago and I had immunity. They can't give you the MMR vaccine while you are pregnant, which is why they want to give it to you now. After the measles outbreak at Disneyland a year or so ago, I would just get the booster.
cherry / 143 posts
@bizwitch, I had my MMR vaccine but sometimes it can wear off apparently, so I had the same issue in my first pregnancy (not immune to rubella). I didn't discover it beforehand, but I was fine- they just marked it down as something to give me in the hospital. (A

@Tionn3: totally random and besides the point but I was Wednesday for halloween a few years ago and it was great saying all of the snarky things I think out loud, and claiming I was just being in character

@snarkybiochemist: That's so cool! I think it's also an easy costume to do, and I like easy =]

@Tionn3: really easy, make sure you have braids and a black dress and a withering stare and you are good to go

So I think I might know why I haven't gotten pregnant since we started trying in May. I was so so soooooo sick in June. Like I had tonsilitis for 2 weeks and was out from work, had a fever and puss all over my tonsils. It was the worst sickness of my life besides that one time I got the flu 5 years ago. My white blood cell differential was like all over the place. Any who, I had follow up blood work in August, so about 2 months after I was sick, and my immune system is better but still has a dent in it from when I was sick. Like my neutrophils (these guys were actually super super high when I was sick) were on the low end, almost outside the range, and my overall white blood cell count was barely over 4. So may my immune system is still recovering and my body is like wait a second there, no pregnancy for you until your immune system is back at baseline. Meh, it at least made me feel a little better to ponder this.

@Tionn3: I'd definitely make sure your CBC normalizes. Are they planning on repeating it again in a few weeks?
kiwi / 680 posts
@yellowbeach: The doctor didn't seem concerned, and since the values were all within normal range (even though those 2 values were in the low normal), they seem to think that things are evening out. Bodies take time to heal, so it makes sense. I trust my family doctor, she is really thorough so if she didn't suggest coming back for follow up blood work I trust her. She seemed to think that my values were to be expected given my previous illness 2 months ago.

I was hoping to get my BFP today but instead I had a huge temp drop and a BFN So I'll join you ladies
Cycle Day: CD1 will be either today or tomorrow, whenever AF decides to show
TTC Cycle: 5 of TTC, 2 NTNP before that
Ovulation Date: probably 10/10
POAS Date: 10/21
Baby #: 2
What's up this month: using opk's and my 2nd month of charting. This past month we tried SMEP, but that didn't seem to work for us so I don't know if we'll try that again. I also started acupuncture last month so I'll continue with that.
For Fun: What are you (or your LO) dressing up as this year for halloween? I won't be dressing up but my LO (3yo)wants to be a witch.
