I have three sets of dishes. I know, I'm psycho. My everyday corelle dishes are square with rounded edges. My next step up mikasa dishes are round, and my nice crate and barrel dishes are round.

I like round for dinner plates. Square is fun for serving.

Mine are mixed. I don't have a set collection of dishes, so I have an eclectic assortment of plates I like.

Square. They're plain white. I think they instantly make a sit-down meal look a little fancier. lol

Round white plates.

We have rectangular plates w/ rounded corners! And then small square appetizers plate. I just realize now that we have no round plates!

I've had both and prefer round.

I used to find all white dishes incredibly boring, but now I'm looking to get some once we buy a kitchen table! We have round with a swirl pattern I bought several years ago, and I just want a classic look next. My china is white with silver trimming though. Momma says I should use my everyday china, because when we lived in Germany she bought three sets of china for cheap that we grew up eating off of. Sorry mom, I only have this one set, and my husband is clumsy!

@dc yoga bee: They hold up really well. We have been using them every day for a year and a half, and they look great. We run them through the dishwasher all the time, and they do great in the microwave.

DH did break one of our smaller plates by dropping it on our hard kitchen floor, but that has been the only casualty so far. None of the other dishes have a single chip on them.

Square & mostly white for us (They have black swirls that go through them).

Our everyday dishes are Fiestaware in different colors. We have nice white Crate & Barrel dishes that are round but the set has appetizer & serving plates that are square.

Mine are a square-round hybrid and I badly want some new ones. Either plain white and round, or round with an awesome pattern. The square edges chip easily, and the off-white colour shows horrible fork-scratch marks

I have both round and square ones, but the square ones in dinner plate size only. I think it looks cute when I'm serving burgers on square plates. Yes, that's the only reason I bought them because I'm nuts. On a daily basis we use round ones, all of our dishes are from Crate and Barrel.

We have both. I prefer the round for dinner plates and they fit better in the microwave. I use the square ones to put snacks on when we have people over as they look nicer!
