Our washing machine just died 
We bought replacement parts to fix per one guys reco and after installed then washer made the same awful noises so we ha someone else come out - need a new drum, which is like $1000 so it's time for a new one.
We need a compact stacked washer dryer - it's upstairs. Anyone know of good ones? Anything to stay away from?
Also just saw the LG front load washer/dryer combo? Does this work? Is it good????

We have an LG washer and dryer and I really like it! They're stackable, but we didn't do that. They're definitely not compact. A friend of mine had the LG washer/dryer combo. It was fine, but annoying that she couldn't have two loads going at once.

We just got the LG stackable washer/dryer combo a few weeks ago and it is awesome. Not terribly small, but awesome. (Hubby had to take the bathroom door frame off to get them in there!) But I'm stoked; having a w/d in our apartment means no more trekking back and forth to the basement and no more quarters!

Bummer! Our washer died this week too. We checked out a few stores and saw that Sears has some compact washer dryer combos. The guy at Sears even emailed a coupon for $100 off any washer or dryer more than $599. Maybe you could check it out?
We ended up getting our top loading washer on clearance from Lowe's and they had free delivery and free haul away. So worth it!

I know the feeling! The day it died we already were out looking for a new one and found the one we bought that same evening. Lowe's is awesome and it was delivered the next morning!

Thanks! So we ended up buying a frigidaire stackable that is pretty sweet - we didn't buy the compact ones. Ugh! Pricey day!
