When did your LO start crying when a stranger held/interacted with them?
E visited extended family today and cried when every other person held her except DH, I, or a close aunt.

It depends. If she was tired/hungry/overwhelmed, she would cry when I wasn't holding her...maybe around 5-6 weeks?
But she's only just recently (maybe 6 months?) started having actual stranger anxiety - realizing that I'm walking away and getting upset.

Still none, at 9.5 months! It makes me kinda sad that he'd just as soon be held by the salesperson at LensCrafters than by his mommy. lol!

@grizz: Same here, same age!
She's reached for strangers while I'm holding her (lets pretend it's because they had on a shiny necklace)...I mean, I didn't think I was THAT bad, geesh.

DD started having stranger anxiety at 7 months and would only wanna be held by me, DH and grandparents. Everyone else, she cries! Lasted about a month or so but then she got over it!

@Mrs. Taco @grizz: my LO has shown no signs also. This weekend at a party and she crawled up to a grandpa type guy drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette, she lifted her arms and asked to be picked up. Nice choice kiddo.

Ds occasionally shows signs - it started around 2 months but most times he doesn't care who's holding him if someone is!

For L it depends on his mood - normally he loves everyone, but if he's tired or teething or just having an off day, he'll cry if a stranger even gets too close! He's 10 months.

She did it last weekend at my SIL's. Took her awhile to warm up to everyone

L is SUCH a mama's boy. I don't even know what to do. Even our parents can't really hold him if I'm in view and if I'm not he doesn't freak out but he's a little anxious and if he sees me he will freak out until in my arms and then he's totally fine and will laugh and smile at these people. It's driving me crazy!
It started at 6.5 months to present.

My LO is 17 months- she has only cried when my MIL and FIL try to hold her. Not sure why she is only scared of them! She's fine with everyone else- she was blowing kisses to our waitress the other day!

There were a few weeks between 3-4 months when no one could hold her. Now at 6 months, it's starting again, but not as bad as before. If I sit near her and she can see me, she's usually ok. More distractable now too.
