We chose the BOB because we live in a rural area and we knew we'd need the off-road capability. We chose it after a few night's of research and never looked back!

(And it's working great for us!)

Don't despair! I guess my only word of advice is to be honest with yourself and choose the stroller for what you are doing most of - are you going to go jogging with the stroller or do you want something for spinning around the mall?

I'm planning on getting the uppababy vista. We live in NYC and I've heard it's great for long walks and navigating over sidewalks in all sorts of weather. I also like that it can face in or out, that it has a little foot rest thing that can be pulled up, that it comes with a bassinet attachment (which I plan to use as opposed to a carseat attachment), and that you can attach a rumble seat to it. I've seen that the storage basket is also pretty big. I think it really depends what you'll be doing with the stroller, as @banana said. Will you be walking a lot, driving a lot, carrying it up and down stairs, putting it in the car, etc.

I was so overwhelmed too and worried I would regret whatever stroller I chose. In the end we decided to get the uppababy vista and I'm really hoping I love it...I will feel so horrible if I don't love it. We used the snap and go for the first 5 months bc I wanted more time to figure out what I wanted.

I wanted a stroller that would accommodate 2 kids eventually and would be good for day trips to the park and zoo and a generous basket bc I tend to carry a lot of stuff around.

i would definitely go with the stroller frame + car seat too. we used that for the first 6 months and then got the city mini.

it really depends where you live and how you use the stroller. we have 4 strollers -- the stroller frame + car seat, city mini, bugaboo bee, and the maclaren quest. we're going to sell the stroller frame, city mini, and eventually the bugaboo bee. then we'll keep the maclaren quest and get a double stroller.

it's really easy to buy and sell stuff used here, so i don't really lose money rotating through so many strollers!

We registered for the Britax B-Agile/B-Safe travel system. I like the stroller because it's not as bulky as traditional travel systems and it folds with one hand. The infant car seat also snaps easily into the the stroller and the stroller seems pretty awesome once I don't need the car seat anymore.

I really think it depends on where you live and what you will be using the stroller for.
-do you live in a big city? Will you walk from destination to destination?
-do you live in a suburban area? will you be driving more?
-how much space in your car do you have? Can you fit a bulky stroller or do you need a small one?
-do you live in an apartment? Will you need to navigate the stroller up stairs or in elevators?
-what is your budget?
-What are your hobbies? What kinds of things wills you be doing with baby?

Hope this helps....these questions really helped me. There is no where around here I could even walk to since we live in the suburbs, so I drive a lot. I have a big SUV so size of stroller wasn't an object, etc.

Oh, I loved the free one given to me, mainly because it was free. I think the wheels are very important. I realized that was mot important.... to easily 4wheel drive (actually 8 wheel) over grass and curbs but other than that anything goes if you are not planning on going on long stretches with them.I don't know how my LO is comfortable in her stroller....looks a bit weird....but she's actually very content almost all of the time. (Older Graco model).

We bought the Graco travel system when DD was a baby and later ended up buying the stroller frame. I wish we'd just bought the frame in the first place and skipped the big stroller. We rarely use it, except for walks because we keep it in the garage. Of course, we were flying a lot more which made the frame a lot more handy.

I had the same problem. We went to Buy Buy Baby to scope out strollers and car seats. The associates there were SO very helpful and could answer all the questions we had. I did some research first with the Baby Bargains book, did some research online and then went in with a list of about 5 or 6 strollers and car seats I wanted to look at. Once we got into the store and were able to touch and feel and carry and roll things around, it helped narrow down our search. The associate we worked with helped us make our final decision, though.

I live in a town where we drive everywhere, so you may not pick the same one we did, but we went with Britax. I can't give you reviews because our LO isn't here yet but the big thing about it (other than safety) that we like is it's not a monstrosity like some of the travel systems out there.

I agree with others, figure out what you plan on doing with the stroller first. Are you lugging it up to your 4th floor apartment or will you throw it in the back of your SUV? Will you be jogging in the park or short trips to the grocery store?

I think that is why most people recommend just getting a snap and go frame for the first 6 months. The baby will be in the car seat that whole time anyways and you can figure out your lifestyle.
