I'm going to Boston for a work trip next week and will need to entertain myself for a few evenings! I'm staying in the north end and won't have a car.
Thoughts on where to eat or what to do? Otherwise I'm going to just get a mani/pedi somewhere and sleeeeeeep

I would head over to Exhale at Battery Wharf, which will be walking distance from your hotel. They have awesome yoga and core fusion classes and a great day spa. Even if you just take a yoga class, they have nice robes, great products, etc. So many good Italian restaurants nearby, but if you are solo eat at the bar at Neptune Oyster which is so good and doesn't take reservations. If it's nice take a walk to Beacon Hill, along the Esplanade, through Back Bay and South End. I would also take the T to Harvard Square and eat at the bar at Alden & Harlow. If you think you'll be taking cabs, download the uber app before you go as it makes things so much easier! Also, the MFA is open late Wens-Fri and just opened a Goya exhibit...I think that would be a fun stop sans kids!

I was also going to suggest going to Neptune and sitting at the bar - it's usually pretty easy to get a single seat! It's amazing! It's right in the north end.
Lots of good walking in the area so I would just explore a little. The ICA (contemporary art) is walking distance just across a bridge in the Seaport too!

I'm there Sun-Wed so prob can't catch the MFA. I was planning to either take the T or walk everywhere. Hopefully the weather is nice!

I don't get into the city much but I had fun in the back bay with friends last weekend. An excellent Marshalls and H&M if you want to shop at all and had a really good scone at Flour.

The North End is so much fun, cute shops and great restaurants. Easy to get to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market

Yes, definitely check out the Faneuil Hall area since it has lots of shop and restaurants. The aquarium is close by if you want to check out actual attraction. I personally love to stroll around the Public Garden and then up and down Newbury for some window shopping.

@Mrs. Tiger: eee yay you're coming to Boston! I work at the MFA, bummer you won't be here on a day we're open later. I do not spend much time at all downtown anymore, but I do remember that the North End is a short walk from the Quincy Market/ Faneuil Hall area, which is super fun... lots of shopping, fun food, street performers, etc. I think the weather should be ok but could be chilly!!

My fave resturant in the North End is Antico Forno and I'm probably in the minority but I love Modern Pastry better than Mike's for cannolis. Also grab a cappuccino from Cafe Vittoria.

I used to live in the north end. If you need a quick bite, Ernestos pizza is the best!! I second Modern bakery over Mike's. If you want to indulge in a mani/pedi, I love Bella Sante on Newbury St. It's a day spa, so you could spend a few hours just relaxing. You can take the T or a cab/uber to that part of the city. The North End also has some very cute boutiques (shake the tree and twilight). Check out Boston Common Coffee on Salem st. Hope you have a great time!!

I would love to meet, I work in the seaport and walk through the north end on my way to the train but 7 is prob too late 
I get out of work at 5 and have some errands to run near home, but let me know and maybe I'll be able to still make it!

I would TOTALLY be down (and even got the OK from Wagon Sr. to skip out during bedtime process!) but I'm on the tail end of a pesky cold thing... I'm feeling ok right now but I tend to get more run down as the day goes on. If I am still feeling ok by dinnertime I will get in touch and meet you all!! Fingers crossed
