Ugh, I am so uninstalling the NBC Olympic app. It sends out random updates, but for people who aren't watching live, it totally ruins things! At least the news gives a spoiler alert warning.
Lame.

I hate their website too! It's so hard to navigate. But we don't have cable or reception here so we have to watch online

Haha I take it you just got an update on a major event that just ended? I think you can shut off notifications under settings.

@Rachel: haha, yes!. Not that it reaaaallly matters to me, but the suspense is half the fun:) We don't have cable, just over air NBC so we have to wait for prime time.

i get annoyed at yahoo and even usmagazine!! they put what happens right in the title. and i watch on west coast time so the big events always get ruined! if only i could remember not to go to those sites!

I feel your pain. I'm so annoyed.... a Facebook friend just spoiled a huge event...seriously the only Olympic event I was looking forward to and now I don't even need to bother. Ugh.

I was just coming to post about media outlets putting updates in the headlines! What are they thinking?!

@MrsSPB: same thing just happened to me! I have been so good about staying off sites that I think will report any results.
My DH jumped on her post and tried to ruin the Batman Movie for her but she's already see it, ha ha!

Did you see NBC spoil Missy Franklin's win with a Today show promo right before she swam last night? That was the height of idiocy.

HA HA HA. Smae here. Though I made the mistake of going to gymnastics live on the app........and saw the medal ceremony! Ooops. lol. Someone on twitter just made sense, though. She said, it's less stressful this way when we watch later. Also, I'll probably be asleep by the time the women compete anyways. New mom problems.

I'm trying to not look at any new site because I want to watch the gymnastics tonight, SOOO HARD! haha

@Mrs. Yoyo: Ha really? Spoiling themselves? Ridiculous. I did see on NBC Nightly News they warn you to look away because they're about to show the results on the screen without saying the results. So silly.

CRAP CRAP CRAP! Google news just ruined women's gymnastics for me with a headline. I think they should have kept that away from the general news tab.

I guess I will just stick to hellobee as my news source for the day so nothing else gets ruined. If something crazy is happening in the world that I need to know about, I hope someone starts a post. I'm also going to avoid facebook. What a long day...

I'm not even reading all the comments here because I'm nervous to have the gymnastic ruined (I did glance at a few on this thread and see you posted that the surprise was spoiled but not HOW it was spoiled, so THANK YOU).
I just saw a friend posting something about the gymnastics being spoiled by NBC, so now I'm afraid to even look at the internet. What am I supposed to do while I'm at work??

@Foodnerd81: you can read my comment, I promise I won't spoil it I read through all the comments (up to mine) and all it says is which event was spoiled, but not the outcome of that event. I know what you mean about avoiding the news - I tried yesterday, but today I gave up! Ah well.
