I gained weight and bought a back up dress for a wedding next month. My first dress worked for wearing my regular bra. This new dress is a halter. My bust is large (G) and I cannot get away with a strapless. Any recommendations for a good halter or tried and true bra clip?
Also can you style me- hair, bracelets, shoes and clutch??? No earrings- my ears aren’t pierced and wearing clip ons would be awkward.

That is a beautiful dress, but I’ve never found a bra with straps that would work with that neckline. Which is really frustrating because I think that shape is so flattering on shoulders, but I’ve avoided it for the last 5 years when I refused to wear a strapless bra while pregnant or nursing. I just got a similar dress for a bridesmaid dress and had to buy a strapless (but I’m smaller on top than you).
If you can find a bra that works, I think hair up would be best to show off the pretty neckline. And simple nude heels and clutch since the dress is so colorful.

For a bag I would do a nude clutch but maybe play with materials/texture.

What about going to a seamstress and having them sew in a bra? Maybe sewing straps to follow the neckline?
I have no idea if thats a real possibility or not....

I just ordered this dress and can wear my regular bra with it.
@meadow: not a bad idea at all. I’ll see which dress gives me the feels like the first one I can’t fit into anymore did and then slice & dice if need be.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: one other option regarding the bras- have you ever tried the long line/ corset type bras? My sister is a F cup and had one for bridesmaid dresses. But- she personally totally hates it. I hope you love the second one and can wear a regular bra!

@looch: there’s a seam at the knee when the dress begins to flair out that connects the top and the bottom. I had to play eye spy to find it, but I think that’s how it could be shortened???

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I feel like that would be a very expensive tailoring option, they'd have to take it apart, cut it and put it back together. Are you wearing your shoes in that picture? How much do they have to shorten it with the heels on?
My wedding dress was like that and to shorten it, the bottom hem was cut and they basted back on the lace hem.

@looch: I’m totally kicking myself for not just ordering the next size down when I had the chance! Yep, I’m wearing heels in the pic and not even the ones I plan to wear for the event, which will likely be shorter. Tailoring this bad boy is going to be $$$. The lace is gorgeous in person.
Moving on to find something else.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Gah, that's too bad, because it does fit your shape nicely...unless it's something that you can see yourself wearing again and again?
I kind of feel like if the cost of tailoring is more than the cost of the dress, unless it's a designer piece, it's a hard pass.

Are you able to use tape and just temporarily hem the bottom yourself? Or if you can do the alterations yourself just do a few stitches to tack up the bottom?
Then your not spending $$$ on major alterations.
I can't really see the very bottom, so I'm not sure if it would work.

@jennlin821: the bottom is finished so that the lace maintains an uninterrupted curl and a smidge of netting.
The dress looks fine in the pic, but I like my clothes to fit a little more snug and feel more secure.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: If you're struggling a bit with too much length, I would pass on your third option (even though it's my favorite of your three most recent options) . . . the dress pools on the floor even on the model (who is probably also wearing heels). Just something to keep in mind. What about a shorter option?

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: been following along. Sorry the red one didn't work out, I saw the pic and thought you looked great and was thinking just wear taller heels, lol. Agree with @pwnstar: about the hem on that dress but wondering why on earth they'd put something like that on the photo in the first place! (Also I like the red better than the black, I'm assuming you were just posting the black for the hem part.. you look great in red!)
