I swear DS has been fussing more and more every day due to gas. He just fusses and fusses non-stop all day. I've tried different positions burping him, rubbing his tummy, gas drops. Does anyone have a different suggestion?

Have you tried bicycling his legs? I do that to my cat and it seems to help.

Yes that too..and eliminating dairy from the beginning. I'm forgetting things I'm doing because I'm so exhausted..ha!

Tummy time helps my LO sometimes - he'll burp as soon as I put him on his stomach. Just make sure to put a towel or burp cloth under him because he may spit up if he just ate!

@littlecasita1122 we do tummy time for hours! i will even have him take a nap with him laying on my stomach...it seems to help a little on occasion, but he still can have fits!
trying to figure out something i haven't googled yet.

Has lo been checked for tongue tie? DD was tongue tied & had trouble getting a good seal while nursing &/or bottle feeding (I tried both)
Also you may way to cut soy too. Many times intolerance issues go hand in hand. You could even try an elimination diet & then slow add back allergens so you know what may or may not be an issue.
As for burping & gas.... We had to give DD gas drops religiously BEFORE every feeding & the best burping technique we found for her was laying her belly down across our legs while we sat on the couch & kind of bouncingy our legs & patting her back at the same time.
I totally understand the gassy crying baby though! Promise it gets better!

PediaCare gas drops work better for us than other brands. We also give LO a probiotic 2x a day. Bouncy chair after eating. Burp often (even like after every ounce or so). Best things so far: bicycling legs - you have to do it a lot, pressing her legs to her chest and pressing down a little until she farts. Also, sitting on the edge of the bed, holding her facing out forward, and bounce for like 15 minutes (i have found it's the easiest to get a good bounce going on the edge of the mattress because of the springs!). Good luck!

On the probiotics... Be sure to check what they were cultured in if you suspect dairy intolerance. I haven't been able to find one that isn't cultured in either dairy or soy.

I hate to say it, but dairy and soy were our problems. Nothing else worked.

Mylicon drops were the only gas drops that worked for us. Maybe trying a different brand?

We love the probiotics we've got LO on - we're in Australia though so I don't think the brand would be the same in the States. I liked my midwife's school of thought on this - we originally went in to ask for Infacol or some other gas drops, but she suggested we try a probiotic first. She said that we can give medicine to treat the problem (gas drops) or treat the cause to prevent the problem from happening in a more natural way (probiotics). Sure enough, the probiotics have worked like a charm.
We also used to bicycle DD's legs (she quickly picked up on how to do it herself and now is a champion cyclist!) and would carry her in a football hold when she was really fussy. Since we started the probiotics though (at about 6 weeks), we haven't had any big issues with gas - just the odd fussiness on occasion but nothing like it was before.

With E, I recline with him lying on my stomach and pat his back, drape him face down over my knees and pat his back, bicycle his legs, press a warm washcloth on his stomach (or just give him a bath). The warmth seems to help him a lot, I don't know why.
I've also starting trying to burp him more often during nursing (at least twice while on each breast) whether or not he's looking like he needs it. If I don't get a burp within a minute or two I stop trying, put him back on the breast and try again a few minutes later. He's still getting gassy, but it's not as bad as it was a week or two ago, and the stuff above seems to alleviate it a lot.
I hope you find something that works!

Thanks ladies...I hope somethng I havent tried works. It seems like his sleep at night is getting worse...I was at least sleeping in 2.5-3 hour chunks and now I'm up every hour at least.

Id talk to your doctor before going crazy with an elimination diet. I strongly think some women overreact and their LOs dont really have those issues.
I agree with trying a couple kinds if drops. C was a very gassy, fussy baby and it was because she was injesting too much air when she ate. We tried drops umtil we found one that worked, we changed bottles, we tried burping her way more often, etc. it all helped a little and then she just evetually outgrew it.

@lydg: I agree with @zipplylef and talk to your doctor before diving into an elimination diet. We thought my LO was super gassy but it turned out that she was just a really fussy baby from about 3-6 weeks, and then it magically stopped as quickly as it started.
