We are having a big end of summer cookout and there will be about 10 kids, all are around 3ish year olds. Any ideas for a good craft for them to do? I don't mind buying / making supplies.
It's an all day party so I'd love to have something to kill some time when they get tired of running around!

What about foam visors? You can buy a big bucket of the stickers and then they can each decorate one.

That sounds so fun! Maybe check oriental trading for their craft kits? Decorate a pic frame?
At daycare this week the kids are doing tie-dye shirts. Not sure if that's possible with your location but I know the 3 year olds really look forward to it and the mess haha

@Mamaof2: I was thinking that - do you think 3 is too young for it though? I remember loving it as a kid but I feel like I was older.

Check out Pinterest for summer themed crafts. Maybe shaving cream/glue ice cream puff paint? Handprint art?

Process based art might keep them busy and stimulated longer than something product based. Perhaps a big sensory bin with dried rice, beans or sand with shovels and small items they can find?

I always thought putting dried beans inside 2 paper plates stapled shut was fun. It's a noise maker and they can decorate the plates. You could also do kazoos with toilet paper/paper towel tubes by securing a piece of wax paper to the end with a rubber band.
You could do a variety of these musical instrument crafts and have a band at the end!
