Okay, what the crap is this white stuff I found in my nipples?? At first I thought it was lint, but then I realized it was the same in both. And that it was almost creamy. Some of it was dried. I squeezed to see if they were leaking and one did nothing and the other had a TINY amount of clear stuff come out.
Doesn't stuff happen with nipples later in pregnancy? I'm 30w2d. Is it just starting early for me?
I read about leaking colostrum...is that what this is? Freaked me out! So weird!

I dont think it's colostrum yet, but I've noticed this "creamy" white residue sometimes... Apparently, it's there even outside of pregnancy too!

@jholler25: It's dried colostrum! I had it with my first pregnancy too. It's crazy. And nasty.

Yep, sounds like colostrum, or whatever comes before that. Dried white but is clear when I squeeze fresh stuff out.

Sounds like colostrum, happened to me as well, and I think it was definitely around that time. It's weird but also means that your body is getting ready!!

Does anyone know if it indicates anything? Like that milk will come in sooner? Labor will happen sooner?

yep I started leaking at 27 weeks! it was white/clear and then turned bright yellow.

@jholler25: Not sure if it means anything. I got mine early on with my first pregnancy. Got a good amount too--some crusty some gooey (sick!) But my milk didn't come in super early and I had supply issues.
I also tried my pump out at around 7-8 months because I was curious and pumped out some colostrum. haha. 
I was 2 days late with LO too!

And yes, sounds like colostrum to me as well I don't think it has any bearing on whether your milk will come in sooner/later.

It happened to me exactly like that about where you are! I started to really leak the week I went into labor and it was sooo trippy!

I had some colostrum starting around 30 weeks. but I never needed nursing pads (until my milk came in and then oh holy crap). no idea if there's any correlation, but my milk came in the day after he was born. Your body is just starting to get ready!

I had my first real pregnancy freakout over leaky nipples, haha. I was only twentyish weeks and noticed a wet spot. It was crazy to realize that my boobs were decorative *and* functional!

My leaking started around 20 weeks, and got really bad when I was holding hungry babies at NICU, and the colostrum smell made the poor little hungry babies go crazy. FWIW, I was induced at 38 weeks, and my milk came in on day 4 postpartum. I did end up wearing lilypadz at around 30 weeks, but mostly just to try to reduce its effect on my poor little patients.

@Minnie_Girl: That's what is freaking me out I think! I know they're going to "go to work" when LO is born, but I'm just shocked that they're already getting on the clock at 30 weeks! I thought they'd just be for decoration until birth, lol:)
I guess this is where DH's relationship with them is going to start to decline, right? When they go into "worker mode?"

Mine never started to leak more, just stayed the same, just a little bit. I also had supply issues, so no indication of that.

I had dried colostrum usually in the morning when I woke up. Toward the very end I needed a breast pad for my right BB (maybe TMI, but I had it pierced when I was 18 so milk/colostrum leaked out the piercing holes.) Other than that, its just one more crazy thing to get used to.

I started leaking colustrum at 20 weeks (yep, I am just lucky like that). Sounds like that's what you've got going on!
