We found out that DH's grandmother is going to make Raggedy Ann dolls for all the great granddaughters. I'm really excited about this! I love handmade gifts and it'll be such a great keepsake for LO. I just had to share!

That's so neat! My grandma made me a cloth doll when I was little and she was my most treasured pocession growing up. I still have her!

@LemonLong: I think it's neat too! His grandmother also makes quilts for every great-grandchild and I loved it when it came in the mail. I didn't know she did that until the package came and my DH didn't tell me because he wanted it to be a surprise.

Hooray for Raggedy Ann! And Andy!
When the first friend of mine to have a baby got pregnant (with a girl), I bought her a beautiful handmade Raggedy Ann doll. I was so, SO excited to give it to her, because I had loved my Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls as a little girl! At the shower I felt like no one else really shared my enthusiasm (or maybe just not my nostalgia), though, so your post just totally made my day.
