DH had a less than stellar month last month at work and so he wants to put in a big finish this month so we talked about it and he's going to be working extra late for the next 2-3 weeks so that he doesn't have to go in to the office during Christmas week. Well we're on day four (4!) and I'm already hating this. He only sees LO for like 20 minutes in the morning while he's rushing around to get ready, and I'm so over doing this by meself every night. I don't want to complain to him about it, I know this is just as hard for him not being home, but man, this stinks!!

I'm sorry
It's so tough to try to do everything on your own when you're used to having that extra help. Are there any friends or family that can take your LO for a little bit so that you can have some time to yourself?

We had a week like that when my husband had to work a later shift - he went in for 10am and didn't get home until 8:30ish. It was awful because LO was only 2 months old at that point, was still really needy, and didn't go to sleep for the night until 9 or so. I was going crazy by the third day and living on Lean Cuisine meals. Luckily it was only a week - I don't know how single parents do it, I give them so much credit! Just keep thinking ahead to Christmas week and how good it'll be that he's home!

I can totally commiserate. This is my life during the week. DH only sees LO in the morning for about 30 minutes and the. He has to go to work. He doesn't come home until LO is long in bed.
It sucks! It's especially really rough when LO doesn't nap well during the day and is a total fussy pants all day long.
No advice. Just hugs and understanding. *hugs*

Stinks
DH has had a lot of business trips this month and last... several weeks worth. I don't want him to go, but I know that it's good for his career and him going means that he's really good at his job. Doesn't make the time pass any faster though. I hope you find an outlet for yourself for once LO goes down for the night... mine happens to be wine and trashy reality TV

That's pretty much how it is for me all the time so I can sympathize! It would be nice to have more family time.

@chopsuey119: I don't know how other mama's do it. I think half the problem is that I have a very small network of friends and they aren't all close by. I get lonely for adult interaction.
