DS is at his dad's this weekend and gets home later today. DH and I went to the aquarium store yesterday and bought a set up for a reef tank!
We're letting the rocks and water get settled, then we'll take DS later this week to pick out a critter for it!
He's going to be so excited! DH and I are excited, too!

@Mrs. Twine: DH has been wanting one, too. When he said yesterday, "Lets go to that aquarium store and look around..." I knew we were coming home with a set up, lol.
@Bao: Yeah, we like it. We told the guy to hook us up with what we need for it to be good...I think he did a good job.
@Cara M. 17: I'm guessing a clownfish or a starfish. But, he tends to surprise us now and then.

Awesome!
I always wanted a reef tank when I was growing up, but my parents said no...too much work and money. I ended up studying Marine Biology, then after I finished college and moved out my dad got a reef tank. Ha!

@anbanan15: Ha! In their face! lol...jk. They are a lot of work, in the sense that you need to know exactly how the chemistry works, but once it's up and running it isn't so bad.

@Dandelion: Exacty! It would have made more sense for them to get it when I was studying that stuff, not after I moved out and couldn't take care of it for them. My dad got it for himself anyway haha

So fun! Some of my fav memories as a kid were picking out fish for my tank with my dad He will love it!

He was thrilled to see the tank when he got home! He says he wants a clown fish, but not the normal orange and white ones. He wants one that has black in it. Also, a yellow tang. Can't wait to go get them later this week!
It's really cool...even though there's no fish, yet, the live rock is really interesting. There's a little bit of coral on them, so it does have a little bit of life.

Update...he picked out a starfish and a shrimp! The starfish really creeps me out, but he's cool. The shrimp is adorable.
