My daughter just turned 1, and takes 2 naps a day. I can't remember when we switched to one nap with my oldest. How often is your young toddler napping - if your LO is older, when did you switch to 1 nap?

She switched at 17 or 18 months, when she moved into the toddler 2 room and switched to their schedule. I remember taking a vacation at 16 months and she was still on 2 naps then.

E is 12.5 months and is down to one nap a day at her sitter's (from about 1 - 3 or 3:30) during the week. At home on the weekends, it's kind of hit or miss. I'm not as much fun as her babysitter buddies, so it's tough for her to stay away until the afternoon...but she won't take two full-length naps for me anymore either.
For example, last Sunday she napped at 11, but since that was so early, she fell asleep again in the Tula for a late afternoon catnap.

Not until she was about 17 months. Once she was consistently playing in her crib for her second nap we began the transition. And it took a while to successfully transition!

DD is close to 14 mo and still on 2 naps. I thought she was going down to 1, and there are days she only takes 1, but mostly she will still take a short morning nap, then a longer afternoon nap. I've tried keeping her awake through the morning nap, but either she really can't stay up, or her 1 nap is too short and pushes bed time way up. So now we deal with a later bed time and I'll just take her lead...

DS1 started transitioning around 14 months and by 15 months was on 1.
DS2 is 13.5 months and seems to very much still need 2 naps.

Daycare started to just give him 1 nap a day @ 15/16 months in prep for moving to the toddler room at 18 months. We tried to follow their lead with the naps at home, but he was always so tired and would fall asleep on every car ride in the AM!

At daycare, she is 1 nap. When she is with me, she is 2 LONG naps. Daycare is just too much fun.

We cut DS1s second nap at 18 months at the peds suggestion to help a sudden turn in night time sleep (it worked).
DS2 dropped it on his his own at 13 months. I was shocked (and pretty disappointed).

2 naps for sure. Doesn't do well on 1 nap and is a mess by bedtime. He is 13.5 months.

LO1 wasn't fully on one nap until 19-20 months. He was always a late on dropping naps.

DS is 2.5 and dropped his AM nap around 12/13 months. He still takes one nap a day.

Haha I just posted the same question! My LO is 15 months and really fighting his morning nap, but is always tired by 9:30am. Not sure if I need to try switching to 1 nap in the early afternoon...

17 months. He naps once a day for 2 to 3 hours. This is new
ETA: Our indicator was he was fighting bedtime. The final indicator was he flat out just didn't go to sleep for his morning nap and seemed 100% fine.

We just started transitioning DS at 16 months, about 3 weeks ago. The sign to us that he was ready was that he started consistently sleeping in later - more like 7am instead of 6.

@BandDmommy: Yep, this exactly. Haha. Mamas are boring--daycare friends are fun!

She's 10.5 months. We are on day 3 of one nap and STTN 12+ hours. The first day was a fluke. A car alarm woke her up 15 min into nap #2- then she STTN for the first time in months. She can get a touch tired/grumpy- but glorious sleep is worth it.
She's sleeping more hours now with one nap she's still asleep and it's almost 9.

DD switched at 14 months.
DS is almost 14 months and some days he needs 2 and other days just 1. I sort of hate the in between phase

My son is just about 16 months old and he made the switch a couple weeks ago. He's been sick so his sleep isn't great at the moment, but he definitely doesn't need his morning nap - we can go out in the car and he doesn't fall asleep, and he stays happy all day, so he was definitely ready. A couple of months ago, though, he definitely needed his morning nap - he was falling asleep in the car/stroller/anywhere if he skipped it. So for him (and he is a terrible sleeper), it worked to just follow his cues. (The first day we skipped his morning nap, it was because he just played happily in his crib for 20-30 minutes and never got tired.)

DS has always been on the earlier side of dropping naps from infancy. We started shortening his morning naps and transitioning him beginning around 12 months, he was fighting naps around 13 months, and we were officially on 1 nap at 14 months. It wasn't until about 15 months that the nap lengthened past 90-ish minutes, but now its reliably 2.5 hours, sometimes even 3 hours.
