FTM here 1 ½ weeks back at work and LO (newborn) in day care.
I was very careful with choosing a daycare, or so I thought. I met with every daycare in a 10 mile radius around me. I chose the one I did because I really liked the head teacher in the infant room; she worked there for over 4 years and seemed like a wonderful person. We connected right away. Well, between me interviewing the daycare and my LO starting the wonderful teacher left. I wasn’t told she left by the director until I stopped in the week before my son started to drop off all of his records, contract etc… I was shocked because I was in touch with the director several times by email previously. The new head teacher is nice, but I just didn’t get the same feeling I did with the previous one. I figured, well I kind of have no choice now; we will see how this goes. The daycare hasn’t done anything wrong per se and I can’t put my finger on it, but I am just not comfortable leaving my LO there and I want to move him to my second choice daycare. Now this daycare was only my second choice because of the cost, I loved everything else about it. My second choice daycare can take my LO starting early May.
My question to you all is how do I go about moving my LO. Per contract I have to give a 2 week notice. I am afraid to tell my current daycare that I am switching. How would you all handle?
