In looking at the description, it says that you need to use a water-free cleaning solvent? No thanks. It's possible that this chair is going to get spit-up, poop, vomit, pee, BM/Formula, etc. on it and you need to be able to clean it. It seems too high maintenance for a chair that will live in a child's room.

If you are set on that chair or a similar style, I saw one at Target that looks very similar and is only about $300.

I'm totally in love with our Best Chairs Tryp glider/recliner. It's gorgeous, comfortable, and the fabric is very durable and easy to get stuff off of. We got it in "gravel" (without the white piping).

We got ours at Buy Buy Baby - or, we ordered it there anyway, over the phone since it was a gift from MIL. We saved a lot of money on delivery by borrowing our friend's SUV to get it, which was pretty easy.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I actually don't think the Luca swivels. And if you are 5'2", I can't imagine you'd have a problem with the height of the seat back. Problem with the Luca is that there are essentially no discounts that will ever be applied to it. So you just pay what it is. ETA - the Milo is pretty darn amazing and it swivels. But its too pricey for comfort.

ETA: you could probably sign up to get emails and use the 10% discount you get from that on the Toby.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: It's pretty close to a grayish color in person - but if your DH only wants darker colors, that could definitely be an issue.

Our swivel gilder is by Bassett and we got it at Buy Buy Baby (with a 20% off coupon!). LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. Very comfy and it is easy to clean. We got a dark charcoal gray color and it shows absolutely no wear or tear (or poop, pee, spit up, formula).
I just went to their site to show you what we got, but I saw that they have leather RECLINING swivel gliders. Might be right up your alley

If you don't get a reclining one, I definitely recommend getting a gliding ottoman to go with your swivel glider. Those late night feedings it's so nice to put your feet up and shut your eyes. It's uncomfortable (for me) to sit a long time with my feet down, holding a baby, leaning back.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I remember someone loving a Walmart crib on a blog I read! We ended up finally getting a classic cheap baby's r us glider after baby was about 3 months... By that point we basically started cosleeping and the few times I did nurse him in glider I fell asleep and woke up all freaked out and confused an hour later! But it still was pretty comfortable, and my husband ended up using a ton to rock him when I first went back to work. It would have come in so handy during those first few weeks of night time feelings when I needed all the lights on to see what I was doing!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: So here's a quick update on LON rockers - I went in last week and saw the Milo and loved it but was bummed about no discounts ever being offered. I even called the LON headquarters to ask and beg. So the sales associate who helped me just now called me and told me that he "discovered" or whatever a 15% discount that I can use on the rocker. He said he only has 4 coupons available to the whole store (i don't know if i believe that part). But anyways, I think I'm going to get the glider this weekend! So my tip for you is to tell a sales associate you really want the glider but are looking for a discount and leave your name and number. Its worth a try!
