Has anyone had to deal with SPD? I get pains that are so bad, I'm in tears. I was sent to the hospital this week because of it and they didn't really have any advice other than keep my legs together. The midwife said the pain will likely get worse!

Sorry, lady. I feel you. I've had tear inducing hip/pelvis pain in various areas throughout pregnancy on and off. Yoga makes it worse (but is beneficial in other ways so I've kept up my practice when the pain lessens depending on the week and baby's position). I've been seeing a chiropractor and getting short massages there before my adjustments and that has helped a lot. Basically I just have to take it easy physically, or push it and be in pain if I have to be moving around. How far along are you?

My pubic bone hurts so much!
I noticed it hurts more when I sit for long periods of time and if I lie on a hard surface on my side (lying on the floor).
One of the bloggers blogged about it.. Said seeing a chiro helped! -
@highwire: I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow. I got a massage a couple of weeks ago and I felt worse afterwards! It sucks. At least it'll go away once the baby is born, right?

@boiledpnut: yes! Pain goes away after baby. It did for me anyway. Pain is worse with pregnancy2.

@boiledpnut: it is such a crap shoot with this I feel like. I try really hard not to scizzor my legs or quickly turn/spin/do anything the forces my hips out of alignment. That helps a lot. Do you have hard floors? I always wear shoes now because walking aroundmy wood floors barefoot always aggravated the pain..

@highwire: Yeah, we do have hardwood floors downstairs, but we also have a strict no shoe policy. I do have cushy slippers that I wear though.

@boiledpnut: I was sooo going to post about this today! Mine is so painful, it's at its worst when I roll over in bed - seriously makes me want to cry! My DH is a phsyio and his advice is that after baby's born to work on your tranverse abs (deep abdominal muscles) and pelvic floor - he said to google for exercises.
People who have had it before - PLEASE tells me it goes away after baby!!! I have a c section on Tuesday and really don't want public bone pain on top of that!

@boiledpnut: I just wear rubber flip flops. Maybe you can get some that you only wear in the house so they aren't dirty?

@boiledpnut: I had it pretty bad... it was to the point where DH had to help me in and out of bed, and 9 times out of 10, the front of my pelvis would actually click! Oooh it was painful! I carried twins, though.
Our thing that made a huge difference was going to the chiropractor and wearing a special belt that he ordered me. It was worn tight and low on the hips to keep the pelvis pressed together where it can separate in the front. It went away for the most part after delivery. I am 12 weeks pp and it hurts a little sometimes, but not anywhere near as bad as during pregnancy!

I thought I had this but my midwife said pain was normal. Um, I don't think it's normal not to be able to walk or stand at 28 weeks!! It feels like I've permanently pulled my inner thigh muscles. It hurts to roll over and I can't stand for more than a few minutes without my muscles really clinching up. What do your symptoms feel like?

I did physical therapy to strengthen supporting muscles and to learn how to stand, sit up, get out of bed, etc. it was helpful, but I still had a lot of pain up until I gave birth.

Mine was bad too. I had the clicking/popping nonesense too. AWFUL. A materni support band helped a bit, if you can stand to wear one. I just ended up taking a lot of baths because floating in water was the only time I could move freely.
