i did. at my first prenatal appointment my tests revealed a uti, so my doctor wanted to treat that with antibiotics. i was nervous about it, too, because i was just like you, only around five weeks along! but i read a lot and couldn't find any indication that the meds she prescribed were dangerous for baby, and i found a ton of research on the potential dangers of an untreated uti during pregnancy. i asked a nurse friend of mine for advice, as well, and she is generally pretty pro-natural when possible, like me, and she also advised me to take the antibiotics. so i did. i'm 34 weeks along now, and as far as we know (and god willing), baby owl is fine. but i think you're right to call your ob just to make sure, and to put yourself at ease!

I went to the ER two weeks ago for what ended up being a UTI. I was about 10 weeks along at the time and they prescribed a 7 day antibiotic (twice a day). I was worried too but, like @Mrs. Owl knew there were dangers of letting the UTI go untreated. I've been fine since taking it. Try not to worry too much!

I took a combo of amoxcillin and something else for my cold. The doctor knew I was pregnant and okay-ed the meds. I also know Tylenol Cold, which is OTC, is also on the approved list of meds to take while pregnant.
