LO currently wears Pampers Cruisers. I know there are more expensive diapers than that, but these are the most expensive as far as popular brands go. I LOVE these diapers, however...the wallet does not. I want to try a cheaper brand but don't know which one to try. Target brand? Luvs? Something else? Should I just suck it up and pay for the Cruisers, you get what you pay for?

I am a die-hard fan of Pampers. Let me know what you end up using and maybe I'll make a switch, too, but for now, Pampers all the way!

We pay Pampers Swaddlers and it's less than $50/month.

I used Honest, but couldn't justify the price when she only wore them to daycare. I switched to Kroger's Comforts brand, the natural version, really good diapers.

I use huggies and I'm not sure if they are cheaper or comparable to pampers. I tried a pack of target brand once. They felt and looked cheaper, but honestly they worked just the same. Remember some of what we are paying for is the characters on the diapers like Disney and Winnie the Pooh!
If you truly pampers could you work on buying them only when they are on sale? Shop around to see which stores have the best price, use coupons, etc? Sales usually come in 6-8 week cycles, you could stock up!

I switched from Cruisers for the same reason. We now use Luvs and they are AWESOME. Much cheaper but softer than any of the other discount brands I tried (wal-mart, target, BJs, CVS, Pampers Baby Dry). They have soft stretchy tabs like Pampers (since it's their parent company), and all the other bargain tabs feel like paper. I am never looking back and save for when next LO is a newborn and I am using sensitive fragrance free diapers, I am using Luvs all the way.

I'm also a die-hard Pampers fan but my pediatrician's office uses Kirkland and if I was going to make the switch I would choose those.

I just finished a small pack of Target brand and I'm sold! Went and bought the big case today. When we were using cruisers we had to use pampers overnights for bed because of leaking. I put her in a target one overnight by accident last week and no leaks!
ETA: I just looked on amazon and it looks like a big box of size 3 cruisers would be .25/diaper. I got the up & ups on sale today for .13/diaper!

We still use pampers because we only use 1 a day. But we tried Target and they were terrible! The absorbency was great, but they were literally falling apart at the seams.

@Bao: We are huge Target brand fans when we aren't using cloth. We recently got a pack of Pampers and Huggies on sale and all I heard was DH and grandma complain how stiff and ill fitting they were compared to the Target ones! You get more in their big box than the other major brands and you can often get one of those gift card deals. We've never had one leak or those pieces of gel (SAP) get on DS like all the other brands seem to do.

We cloth diaper, but whenever we run out of diapers or go on vacation, we use Target brand. We've never had issues with them and I know lots of other people who swear by the Target brand!

We use Pampers. I order from Amazon and it ends up being 0.28/diaper compared to 0.38+/diaper if we buy locally. I've heard good things about Target diapers and Costco diapers but haven't tried them. I don't want to switch things up if they're working, ya know? It would be nice to save more though!

We like the Costco Kirkland brand too. They fit a lot like Huggies.

We use Cruisers too and try to buy through Amazon Mom/Subscribe and Save and they're cheaper that way. If you aren't in Amazon Mom, always check Baby Cheapskate blog for the best deals -- they do a roundup at the beginning of the week.

I've not found a quality difference between cheap and expensive brands. I get the luvs brand because they have a monkey on them and she loves that. That was about my level of thinking it through.

We used target for newborn size and we loved them! The only reason we switched was because we stocked up on huggies size 1; otherwise I would have stuck with target.

We love Pampers. I've tried other brands and they just didn't work for us. Coupons.com has pampers swaddlers and cruisers coupons most of the time for $1.50 off each pack. They will let you print 2 off of each computer in your house. We have 2 household laptops, and then DH has a work computer so that gives us 6 $1.50 off coupons. (I even ask my in-laws to print coupons out and bring them if they are visiting!) If you buy the smallest packs at Wal-Mart or Target, you are saving the most money. At least we are where we live. Also, sign up for Pampers Rewards! I have so many points and am saving them up for some Shutterfly Photo books. That's how we do it.

I loved pampers & honest but we can no longer really afford. Tried luvs even though I really was dreading it. They are perfumey but I aired them out and love them now! And 50% of pampers cost.
Sadly target didn't hold poops for us

@Bao: P is big, she hasn't had her 15m appt (it's on the 19th) but I just switched her to size 5. She always needs the next size up when she reaches the lower weight limit. I think they run slightly smaller than pampers.

We were gifted some Target diapers and after using pampers they seemed so stiff and rough and cheap. But they did the job fine.
I think we have used a few Huggies and I think they were softer but for the small price difference I stayed with pampers.

We use Huggies and no complaints. They are the same price at Costco as the Kirkland brand.

We used to use pampers, but my friend who works for P&G advised that once you move out of swaddlers, LUVs are just as good.
We followed her advice and moved to luvs once LO moved into size 4. I found they worked great during the day, but leaked a little if he STTN more than 8hours.
We now use luvs during the day, and Huggies overnights at night -
I really like Costco's Kirkland brand! I miss pampers but we save quite a bit.

@Bao: I always wait for BRU coupons then use them at BBB bc BBB has bigger boxes and will price match. I buy swaddlers sensitive, but if I had bought the size 3 cruisers it would have only cost $.18 a diaper.
ETA: I did not like luvs at all. IMHO, they are not comparable to swaddlers sensitive at all.

I was using walmarts parents choice brand and liked them a lot. I then tried target brand and I love them!
I've used the Kirkland brand too and liked them, but of all the store brand ones I like target the best.

I'm also a big fan of Up and Up from Target as well! The only thing I'm not a fan of is their scent. I don't know what it is, but my nose is a bit sensitive to it and it's stinky to me!

Another Target brand lover here. Switched at size 3 (from Pampers) after being gifted a pack from someone. I thought they were great and we've been using them for a good 8 months now. I still use an overnight diaper (Huggies), but daytime diapers are exclusively Target now.
