I haven't got a clue!!

I was just talking to DH and he was surprised that newborns needed to feed so often (every 2-3 hrs my book says) and that breastfeeding takes so long (my book says up to 40 mins per feed).

It then occured to me that I don't actually know what happens next! I know that newborns need to sleep frequently (like, all the time?? Yeah?) - and that they often fall asleep when they're feeding (is that how you know they've finished feeding?).... so..... when do I do the nappy (diaper) change? Before feeding? After feeding? How about the winding??

I understand that if they haven't woken up to feed after 2-3 hrs, I need to wake them to feed them. But what if he/she wakes up, like, 30 minutes after falling asleep? Crying? Do I feed again?

Basically, I've never been around babies and I haven't got a clue what to expect!!!!
