Mine share a room (ages 3 and 2). It's mostly not bad. Dd threw up the other night and didn't even wake ds up! They sleep with white noise and ds is in a twin and dd is in a crib. Ds has his own dresser and they share a closet. The rest of dd clothing is in an armoire in our room.

Some nights dd wake up and ds will come get in our bed but rarely are we up with both or one!

My 3-year old (will be 4 in May) and 2-year old share a room. Things were really, really rough at first. Not that they would wake each other up at night, but just getting them to go to sleep. They would stay awake and talk and goof around for HOURS. For the first month, neither of them was asleep before 10:30. Sometimes even later.

Now that it's been a while, we are in a good routine. My older daughter doesn't nap anymore, so she goes to bed first. Then once she's asleep, I put DD2 in there, and she just lays there quietly until she drifts off (she's quiet since older sister is asleep, there's no one to bug).

They are pretty great about not waking each other up. I always thought they were such light sleepers, but they've slept through a lot (the other one coughing all night long, throwing up, having a tantrum, crying for mom, etc.).

One is in a twin bed that has drawers underneath (which acts as her dresser), and the other one is in a crib. There is one dresser in there. I think we moved them in together when DD1 was 2 1/2 and DD2 was 22 months.

My DD (5yrs) and my DS (10 months) share a room. It has worked perfectly for us. My daughter sleeps like a rock, so even when the baby gets up (usually 1x a night, but sometimes more) she rarely wakes. DS slept in our room for the first few months.. maybe 4 or so? But the bedroom they share is huge. There's room for a twin bed (DD), a crib (DS), a Hemnes 6 drawer dresser, a bookcase, and space to play.

The kids share the Hemnes dresser - each kid gets a side. I just keep current season clothes in it. I use the top of the dresser with a changing pad for diapers. The crib and the twin bed are actually right next to each other. I keep out of season clothes and toys in the closet. The bookshelf has room for books and cube bins, which we keep small toys, etc in.

We put up the crib in DD's room in January and DS was born in April. That left lots of time to get used to the new room layout and talk about how the baby would share the room. We changed out the pink curtains for yellow ones, hung up multi-colored star garland, and switched out some of the framed photos/artwork on the walls to make it a more "rainbow colored" space. We left my daughter's pink/purple bedding and just put a blue dust ruffle on the crib. Is it Pottery Barn Kids perfect? No. But it works for us & my daughter loves it. The baby is thrilled to wake up and see his sister. My daughter loves to talk to her brother from her bed.

We are moving in a few months and each kid will have their own room. But room sharing has worked perfectly for us and my kids are 4.5 years apart

Could you put them in separate rooms, and if you need the guest room have them share for that short period of time? That's our current plan...we have 4 bedrooms (currently master, dd1's room, dd2's room and a guest) But our MIL/FIl/SIL often come to visit together so we need 2 guest bedrooms for them.

So when my ILs are here, my girls share a room for the weekend or whatever, but other than that they have their own space. Currently I put the pack n play for dd2 in dd1's room, but eventually my girls will just share dd1's queen bed when we have guests.

We have a 3 bedroom house so our plan is to convert the guest room to a nursery and keep it that way until lo#2 is sleeping through the night. At that point we will move lo#2's crib into DS's room (there is a 3 year age gap). Hopefully this goes well, but if it doesn't, or down the line once they start asking for separate rooms we are going to move one back into the guest room on a queen bed with the understanding that they have to move out when guests come

@daniellemybelle: Yea thats what I was just going to suggest! Or is there a reason the guest (if its just grandma) wont sleep on a twin?

@daniellemybelle: LO2 had a little nursery that we had originally intended to be an office for DH. So DH shared his office with the guest room with LO2 in there. We are fortunate to have 4 bedrooms (one is a playroom) + office space, so they could still be in two separate rooms. But we do so much work from home that reclaiming some dedicated office space was a priority, and we think sharing a room helps with bonding.
