LO is 6 w old. I know this is too early for a "schedule," which I'm not worried about right now. But I also know he probably won't magically start taking 3 naps in his crib at 3 months since he mainly sleeps on us right now.
How did you transition to naps?

It happened naturally as he gradually had longer awake periods. Once he was able to stay awake for an hour or so, he naturally feel into a 3 nap a day schedule. Of course, then the 4 month wakeful hit and that all went to crap 
But I wouldn't worry about it too much. I will say that following EASY helped us find a routine much more easily (ha no pun intended!).

It just... Happened. He's always tired at roughly the same time every day. Now, the length varies, but he does fall asleep.

Around that time, we started putting her down in her crib when she was in a deep sleep. Yes, there were a lot of times when she would wake back up, but she eventually got used to it and will only nap in her crib now.
I will say she didn't really get on a schedule until around 4 months, when she was in daycare.
