I've never had a baby before, and though I took some early childhood development classes in college, I'm not sure what normal speech development looks like.

I'm not worried about Sadie's speech (I try not to compare her milestones) - really just wondering about what the progression from babbling to speaking looked like for you. Sadie's got mama, dada, baba (what we use for bottle -- how she asks for it), and bye bye in her arsenal of actual meaningful words she can say, but she babbles incessantly... I mean like all day (just like mama... poor dad!). I'm wondering when she will start to mimic more words. What's average for having a solid list of meaningful vocab?

What was your LO's speech like from 9-12m? When did you notice a spike in your LO's ability to mimic?
