I'm looking at the Physical Exam schedule on my pediatricians website and it says they do a TB Test at the 3 year appointment. Has anyone else had this done? It seems pretty unnecessary to me and I'm thinking I'll refuse it.

I don't know if my ped does this or not, but I've had TB tests myself and they aren't bad. I had a friend find out at her annual physical that she had been exposed to TB and she had know idea when or how it could have happened so if my ped wanted it done I would agree to it to be safe.

You could ask if they will do a blood test called Quantiferon Gold instead of the bubble test.... I used to need one yearly because of meds i was on

I could definitely see the benefit of it, especially if your LO attends daycare. I would be annoyed having to go back in 3 days to have the test read though.
