My 2 year old finally has enough hair for barrettes, AND is actually interested in wearing barrettes- hooray! We have one four pack of barrettes that we got when she was a bald baby, but I'd like to get a few more, especially with the holidays coming up.

What type of clips are best at this age? She has fine curly hair. The covered clips that we have (like the first picture) do slide out a bit. But she also will pull them out still, so I worry the second type would pull her hair out too. Which type do you prefer?

And for newborns, what should I look for in head bands that are comfy and will stay on? I'm just assuming this new baby will be as bald as big sister.

Finally how much is normal to pay for very simple bows and head bands? I'm not into the big ones, but some small coordinating ones for the two girls sounds pretty sweet. I'm pretty crafty so could probably make something simple, once I got supplies...
