I think a lot of this is very true. It is what keeps pushing me forward, yet leaves me feeling like a failure. It leaves me anxious, because I have this huge list of things that I need to do...that will never be done. I love my job, and with time I am able to do more of the things on my list and accept those that I can't a little easier. I know I will always feel the failures just as much as I do the successes though.
What do you think?
Unfortunately, it can be difficult to be self-reflective with your admin if your admin isn't supportive. I've had a bad principal and it is difficult to be vulnerable around him because it can mean opening myself up to attack. Next year I will be at a new school with a principal who has a stellar reputation. I am eager to work with an admin who is responsive to and respectful of teachers who are aware of "what they can't do well enough yet."
