There's a cute book I've used with young kiddos (I'm a therapist) called My Mouth is a Volcano. You can find various worksheets on Pinterest to go along with it to make it more interactive!

Its so hard.
One thing I read is to ask them to wait and then put your hand on their shoulder or something so they know they still need to wait. Eventually they can just come up and physically touch you to request to interrupt.

We do the hand on shoulder thing that @T.H.O.U.: described. After we taught him how to do it, we would ignore his interruptions and just pat our own shoulders as a reminder of what we want him to do.
