So if you are team green and plan on cloth diapering, is it rude to include cloth diapers on your registry? I feel rude. I don't know why. And I mentioned the team green just because our registry feels empty because we are not registering for clothes.

I don't really get what being tg has to do with whether or not you include diapers on your registry?
Diapers are a totally normal thing to put on your registry, whether disposable or cloth!

My friend had a bunch of cloth diapers on her registry and she didn't get any of them. Her friends & family assumed it wouldn't last so they bought other stuff!

I didn't, only because I got mine on sale long before my shower. If I hadn't I totally would have though, if only for no other reason than the registry completion discount.
ETA: I did put the sprayer on, though, and it was the first thing purchased!

@anonysquire: Well, we moved right before he was born and the toilet in our apartment doesn't have the thing it needs to connect, so I've never actually used it. I've only wished I had it a few times, with really loose solid poops, but most of the time the poop is a solid log that just rolls out when I shake it over the toilet.
So I think it would be handy to have, but I haven't found it absolutely necessary, but sometimes I have to dunk really loose poop diapers in the toilet, which is gross.

@anonysquire: Oh I see. I don't know too many people who put clothes on their registries anyway..people seem to like to pick out whatever they want to pick out in terms of clothes. It can't hurt to put it on there, and if you want to buy them yourself just wait til later and put them on and use the completion coupon.

@anonysquire: I wasn't team green, but we didn't register for clothes at all. I had a friend who registered for diapers, but most gave her gift cards to the shop she was getting them from.

I would have no issue with someone registering for cloth diapers. I don't think there's anything rude about it. My only hesitation for buying them (prior to having my own kid) for somebody is that they're expensive enough that I would probably only buy two for a shower gift. And two diapers seems like it would look like a really piddly gift, so I'd probably buy something that looks more substantial.
But now that I have my own kid so recently, I'd probably be more inclined to pick up the super useful practical thing that doesn't look like a fantastic gift at first look.

We're planning to use a diaper service for the first few months at least, so I put diaper covers on the registry because we have to provide them ourselves (the service is only prefold inserts). Nobody bought them, though

I said no, but only because I assume that you are expecting to put down just one type of diaper, to build up a stash. You might be better off putting a range of different diaper types so that you can work out what will work best for you and your child

I say sure! Why not. We knew the sex of our baby but barely registered for clothes. I think I asked for a bunch of plain white onesies which was perfect.

I say Yes! Why not? People want to buy you gifts and you need diapers.
I wasn't Team Green and I didn't register for clothes. People will still buy them no matter what.

What else is on the registry? What do you have remaining?
I think people feel weird buying cloth, most people don't get how they work and when they hear cloth diaper, they think of prefolds and diaper pins!

Heck yeah - put them on there!
And sprayer - I totally thought I had to have one, but I've probably only needed it 5 times (she's almost 10 months). If you can handle the occasional hand-dunking, you could definitely save some money there.

I thought the question was "is it rude....?" so I accidently voted no! But it's definitely okay to put cds on your registry. Nobody got us any though and we're team green.

We put diapers on our registry. We got a few covers from a friend, I think? We purchased the rest. We ordered some of the covers through Amazon, so we got a completion discount on them, but our prefolds came from Green Mountain Diapers so that didn't apply. We use our diaper sprayer a lot now that she is on solids, but never used it before that because breast milk poop dissolves in water.

We definitely put diapers on the registry ... especially since the stash we're trying to build is well over $500. We've received a few, and everyone at the first shower passed them around. Our moms & grandmas were so impressed with cloth diaper technology these days.

I did it! Heck, I put a bunch of stuff on my registry that I knew people wouldn't buy because it's so expensive, but I wanted the completion discount at the end.

Hate to say it but even without clothes on your registry you are likely to get some. I was team green and still got clothing, just in yellows/greens.

I voted no bc I think it's helpful to go to a cloth diaper store and try out several different kinds to get the best fit for your baby, but then I realized not everyone has such a resource in their area
We had a diaper sprayer on our registry but we never used it. Someone gave us half a roll of liners and we were hooked!
I agree w/@purrpletulips: that you will prob get clothes anyway. We were TG, and got a couple of beautiful white buntings for our Feb baby.

My TG registry didn't have much clothes on it {onesies, socks, etc.} so I wasn't gifted very much clothes, and I loved that. Instead we got everything else, and I bought my own yellow, green, brown, grey and white clothes which I really loved.
I say put the cloth diapers on there. Some folks might shy away from gifting them to you, but I bet there might be a rebel or two that will go for it.
