Does your LO have a tiny nursery?
Our 3rd bedroom in our new house is 247cm x 160cm and its going to be the nursery for baby #2.
We have just finished painting it and now we are trying to work out what furniture will fit & look good. This will be her room until she is at least 4 (when we can afford our attic conversion) so we will need toy storage too. Agh!
Does your LO have a small room? What is it like? Care to share pics and ideas?

LO's is 8x6 and on one wall he has floor to ceiling shelves, (built in so no fear of them falling on him). This has been a godsend. We put stuff like photo albums and nostalgic baby clothes, as well as stuff that he doesn't use often, on the very top shelves. The next shelves are decorative items that are fragile, like framed pictures. The next shelves are decorative but not fragile (if he gets ahold of a step stool he can reach up here). We also put diapering and clothing stuff on this shelf in fabric bins. The next shelves are all of his toys and books.
We have a large toy chest that we also used as a changing table when he was in diapers, so dual purpose.
He's in a twin floor bed currently, but we are looking at a loft bed to give us more storage options for under the bed. With LO2 being in her crib for awhile, you'll probably be able to store things under her crib too!

@catomd00: That's adorable. Is that a closet at the end? Where is the door into the room?

@Applesandbananas: That sounds genius. Hopefully #2 will be more cautious than E - she would dive off a loft bed, yelling zoom!

Does LO1 have space for a large IKEA-esque wardrobe? LO2 stayed in an alcove off our bedroom for awhile with nothing but a crib and two under the crib baskets for diapers/middle of the night needs (like one change of clothes) and a few hooks. Her clothes and toys were in LO1's (huge) room. We moved her in with LO1 around 1 year.
ETA: the girls shared the hanging pirtion of the wardrobe, lo2 had drawers on the bottom half, and the other side was toy/diaper/outgrown clothes storage.

@Cherrybee: the closet is to the left of the crib. It's a good size with accordion doors. The door to the room is to the right of the dresser (you can kind of see it in the last pic). The first pic was taken from the doorway.

So, that does sound teeny. I would just try to get the furniture scale right for the crib/changer and store things vertically. What color did you paint it? I'm excited to see what you end up doing in there!

@PinkElephant: Id prefer not to keep all of #2's clothes in #1's room because E is a really light sleeper so I wont be able to creep in at night in the event of a blowout. But its a great idea for coats, dresses etc, and some toys.

We had DS in a nook in our master bedroom before we bought a house that was about the size of your nursery.
We had his crib and a dresser up against the main wall with a changing pad and a basket of diapering goods on top of the dresser. We put a tall skinny floor lamp with a lamp dimmer switch next to the dresser to turn on at night for changing.
Once he got a little older, we swapped out the dresser with an Ikea cube storage unit with the coordinating fabric drawers.

They actually hold a lot of books and toys and we keep DS' humidifier and white noise machine on top of the unit.
In terms of clothing and other storage, we put hanging storage systems with coordinating drawers in the closet. They are perfect for baby clothes.

On the floor of the closet we keep a small laundry hamper and a spare plastic drawer set on wheels we had around the house for additional storage like this:

We had a small 4x6 rug on the floor to delineate his space from our master bedroom and hung simple prints and vinyl decals over the dresser and crib area to dress it up.
The thing that helped the space situation was we kept our chair in a different place. Trying to put a big comfy glider or something would have been too tight in that space, although something slim like an Ikea Poang chair might work. So for us, I'd change DS and then walk over to the chair and feed him over there.
Even now that DS has his own room, we kept the same furniture set up to maximize the floor space in his room. He's still sleeping in his crib, but I imagine you can get a really cheap Ikea toddler bed that will last until your LO moves into the attic conversion.

That is pretty small but should be fine for a baby! (Code for a bedroom where I live is 10x12.) I would split the closet too. #1 and #2 are sharing but so far #2 (almost 3 months) sleeps with us but we just keep a couple spare blankets and onesies or sleepers and that's been enough. I'd also do one of those cribs with a drawer or some other storage. I'd skip the glider unless you're really wanting to feed there. I guess what I'm saying is I would buy minimal stuff (focus on a place to sleep and store clothes) and buy what becomes necessary as you get into a routine. We thought we might want to utilize our loft as a third bedroom but most likely we are going to keep the kids together and make one room a play room instead. It can be tough to say ahead of time!

@Cherrybee: no, no nook. Just the rock and play at the foot of our bed, and a changing station set up on my dresser. She has a few drawers for pjs and a couple of outfits that fit, plus blankets and burp cloths and such. The idea is they will eventually share a room but there's a good chance we will move before then anyway.
Most of her clothes and extra blankets and stuff are in C's room, but I definitely keep more than enough for late night blowouts and stuff in our room. It's a work in progress (and will be until we move).

LO2 is in a room that is roughly 7x9 ft. She has a crib (Ikea gulliver), a chifferobe (her great-grandparents' wedding gift!) with a small hanging section and seven drawers, three small wall-mounted shelves that hold books, and an area rug. We have a glider for nursing in our room, toys are in common spaces, and the changing table is in the hallway by the bathroom. (We have two kids in diapers and use cloth, so this is the best location for it anyway.)
I used to think the room was small, but now I think it's perfect. I hope to keep her in there as long as she sleeps in a crib.

Baby 2's nursery is just a wall in my son's room, partly set up (22 weeks to go, give or take)
For dresser and toy storage we have two cube shelves from target with 9 cloth drawers in each, one shelf per kid (I will have to rearrange it). My son never missed the big toys that take up tons of floor spaces. Shelves that attach to the wall and don't touch the floor are your friends.
No hamper in the room for clothes (we all share one, it is in the bathroom). The green hanging bag on the crib is the dirty diaper bag.
No glider.

Is your bathroom big enough to have the changing station (assuming you use one)?
I am not a big fan of the IKEA loft beds, they look like they'd snap in half, but I know a lot of people that have used them for multiple kids!
Instead, I'd think ahead of the kind of bed to use when you're done with the crib and then design around that. One of my favorite ideas was to center the bed in the center of the longest wall and then use the closet systems to build out floor to ceiling cabinets.

@looch: No, our bathroom is tiny! Its not big enough for a mirror, hahaha! But we had a cot-top changer for E and it was great. We kept it under the cot when not in use. The cot is the kind you can take the side off so it will last until she is perhaps 2.5. After that, if we want to put a bed in, it wont fit width ways in the room and still have room to get past because the room is only 160cm wide! 
I'm thinking we might need to move the attic reno forward! (any excuse!)

Ds1's nursery in our old house was about 5'x6'. We purchased a mini crib, and a changing table dresser combo. We kept the rocking chair in front of the closet door, and only store things like extra diapers and larger sized clothes in there.

Our nursery is 6'x8'.
We have a crib that has five drawers and a changer all in one. A small three drawer chest and a glider. There's nothing more I need in the space.
If you are smart about furniture and find things that can do double duty it'll make things much easier.

DS's room is 8x12 and will be shared with D2 in August. It's a weird layout with no full walls so there's limited furniture space. We've started rearranging it so on one wall is mini crib and the other side has his toddler bed. We anchored a small IKEA bookcase to the wall and added a curtain rod to our for closet space. Adjacent to it is another bookcase filled with bins for folded clothing/toy storage and the final walk space has a dresser that we placed a changing pad on top of. There's a wire bin storage unit at the foot of the toddler bed for more storage and another cart under the window. The sill is deep so I have a basket there with misc supplies.

Thanks for all your advice! We bought our furniture and DH assembled it all today. We took the advice to go for tall furniture to get more storage. We will use a cot top changer. Here is our nursery (its so small its hard to get a picture of it!):
