My 9 month old has recently started grinding her teeth. She does it maybe once or twice a day (just 1-2 "grinds").
Did your LO ever grind his/her teeth?
She has 4 teeth on top and 2 on bottom.

@mrbee: nope! no teeth grinders here. she does it when she's awake though. so maybe she's getting used to having hard white things in her mouth?

Yes! My LO used to grind his teeth when he was around 7 or 8 months old. He did it for about a month or two and then just stopped. I asked his pediatrician about it and she said a lot of babies do it when they first get their teeth because it's an interesting sensation for them. But most outgrow it by a year, like my LO.

mine did this around the same age, when he was getting his first teeth in. it was a pretty short phase and passed after a couple of weeks!

yup, RJ did this a lot when his teeth were coming in. Doc says that (and sticking the tongue out, and a few other weird things) were probably just him experimenting with the new things in his mouth and he'd grow out of it... he did

Yes!! Ugh!! It totally makes my skin crawl. He's had 4 teeth on top and 4 on the bottom for a bit now but the grinding just started in the last month.
I also unknowingly do it in my sleep occasionally so maybe it's hereditary?
Anyone have any tricks to make them stop?

Yep. My babe has 3 on the top and 2 on the bottom. I think she just likes the noise. Like Boogs, I do it in my sleep so maybe it is genetic.
The other week while BFing I told her, "No biting!" and she smirked at me and grinded her teeth. RRRRRRR. Little sassafrass!
