YES! LO does it when she's teething. I have to leave the room sometimes. It makes my skin crawl.

OMG IT'S THE WORST!!!!!!! It's WORSE than fingers on the chalkboard... seriously if there is anything that makes me want to pull my hair out, this is it. And J picked up that I cringe and freak out when he does it, so he kept doing it. GAH. I totally agree about just walking away. Don't make my mistake and try your best not to react AT ALL!! I've learned they thrive off reaction positive or negative.
He's finally stopped doing it consistently, but does on occasion.

Ugh my LO did that when he was getting his molars in. It is the worst sound ever! I still get goosebumps just thinking about it! Luckily it was a phase that didn't last very long.

Lo started grinding her teeth when her top 2 teeth were coming through, she only grinds them occassionally now thankfully. I hate the grinding noise!

Yes for about a month. The noise was so awful and every time I asked her to stop, she would smirk and grind more. She just stopped after about a month.

The dentist told me that they do this when they are teething so it should stop once the teeth come in? I haven't had experience with this, but he told me to expect it!

My LO just started doing this today and it is the worst noise I think I've ever heard!! Hoping it is a passing phase.

So glad I found this thread. L started doing this for the first time today and it freaked me out. I tried not to react but eeeeeew. I hate the noise. He's 10 months with 4 teeth!

OMG yes and I totally find it is the worst. I have no perfect solution... We just tell him to stop and usually offer him the pacifier and when he takes that it makes him stop.

Ick, yes, L does this often. It gives me the chills big time. I usually stick my knuckle in her mouth to stop her and tell her 'NO'.
