When she turned one, I started saying "she just turned one in X month." Then it was "about 1.5" and then "almost 2" and now it's "2.5." I think definitely at 2 is when I started thinking it was weird to still count in months. That's just how I felt personally, everyone else can count however they like!

I personally feel like once they are 2 years old that how ever many "months" should be dropped. Like when someone says "she's 42 months" I don't know is she 3 or 4? I can't do that high of math that quickly haha

Ditto @autumnlove: - I'll use specific months on here up until Age 3 (esp if they have a specific question like when did you do the big kid bed transition, when did you potty train, etc)...

Then I started using 3, 3.5, 4 and just rounding..

My daughter is almost 3. At 2 we said she was 2. If people asked further (usually parents) I'd tell them the months. Like, I'll say 2 and a half or almost 3, but I kind of hate when people tell me their kid is 37 months. After 2 I am not doing that math, I don't care enough.

It depends who I'm talking to. Unless it's another parent of young kids, I usually say "she turned one a month ago" or "she'll be a year and a half next month" etc etc. Kind of trying to make it clear without just saying "one." Unless they look like they really don't care and then I just say ONE!

anything after 12 months became "one and half" or "nearly two" or "two and a half" now its "nearly 3". close enough is good enough, whats the difference really between 26 months and 30 months.

Math is hard. I say two.

I think anything under 2 is acceptable in months, although saying 22 months is still pushing it. Probably after 1 year, saying 1 and a half, or just turned one, or is turning two in few months makes more sense.

Once she hit 2 I started saying 2, now I say 2 1/2, it's just easier, I honestly have no idea how many months she is, I would have to count ha! I think she's coming up on 30.

At 18 months, I start saying 1.5 years and go with years after that. I do a serious eye roll if I hear people talk about their kids ages in months after that. Don't know why it bothers me so much.
