Many of the comments on the other thread made me curious. At what temperature do you keep your thermostat set in the winter?

I am always cold. We keep ours at 72 and I am still frequently in sweatshirts and/or under a blanket.

73 but we live in a warm climate. When I lived in NY we kept it between 68-70.

We used to keep it around 68, but with a baby we started keeping it at 70.

73. I'm cold natured and DH is hot natured. It's a good compromise for us.

72 usually although my son's room gets really drafty (like down to 64 at night) so we have been bumping the heat to 74 when it is cold. I think a space heater would be more efficient but my husband is petrified of them!

66 this winter! It's been decently warm and I feel like our baseboard heat easily makes it too hot. I'm also so much warmer when pregnant so that could have something to do with it!

The main part of the house is 67 during the day. Our family room heat can't quite keep up with that, so it's set at 65, but we have a wood stove that heats it up to 70-72 when in use.

67 since LO came along, before that we used to keep it a few degrees cooler.

For the past 5 years of living in AZ, we kept it at 72 during the winter, down to 70 for sleep, and off for the daytime during work (7am-5pm.)
However, during this pregnancy, I've felt hot the whole time so we're at 68-70.

I'm an anomaly I guess, because we keep it at 64 or 65. Any higher and it gets too hot upstairs, which is where we spend most of our time when we're home. We also both sleep better when it's cooler.

72 and I'm still cold. I cranked it up to 75 for a while the other day. I'm nursing a newborn and having awful vasospasms which are exacerbated by cold and I just couldn't take it any more.

We keep ours at 65 but have a wood stove so it's a toasty 73 in here right now

Usually 65, I bump it up to 67 on rainy days since it feels colder in here then.

65 and it drops to 64 at night. If it's especially chilly I bump it up for a bit. We have a big old house so we can't afford to pay high heat bills.

I like to keep it around 68, I'd prefer warmer but trying to compromise. My husband would be happier with 65. I'm currently sitting in my bedroom which has a separate heater and he has it down to 63 in here! I'm waiting for it to warm up so I can shower.

68. We used to keep it around 64 before kids. I would wear long underwear typically. Keeping it that high feels extravagant now, haha! We try to be environmentally conscious so I just don't feel comfortable keeping it higher. During the day I'm usually out and about with kids or on my feet, so I don't get cold. And I use a wool blanket on the couch in the evenings. Closing the blinds in drafty rooms helps. So does wearing a tank top under clothes. And hot tea!

67-68 during the day and 65-66 at night. Otherwise it's SO hot upstairs. I also don't like when it's that warm in our house. I'd rather wear a jacket or use a blanket.

We used to keep it lower, but now with our little babe we keep it at 70 since our house is drafty and always feels a little colder than the thermostat shows.

We prefer a cooler house, so we generally keep it at 66. We occasionally pop it up a little as necessary as needed. We keep temperature sensors in the bedrooms to make sure it doesn't get too cold!

We keep it at 70. Our house is so drafty that anything less would feel significantly colder.

69 at night, 71 during the day. I still keep a space heater by my chair.

68 at night, 70-71 in the morning/evenings. We have a one story home so that helps!

Mostly 68, and I'll bump it up to 70 if I get cold, or use a blanket. It does down to 64 at night and we have a heater in B's room.

65! I don't even want to know some of your heating bills! This is high for us because we have kids. I feel like our home is usually pretty decently warm. I always put socks and sweatshirts on. On really cold days we have he advantage of a wood burning fireplace.

67, we're also in the "old and drafty" camp. Any higher would cost too much. The people who lived here before us kept it at 74 in the winter and their electric bill was over 2x what ours is!

66. Our house is drafty so it always feels cold. Must save money to replace windows soon. We turn it down to 60 at night and keep heaters in the kids' rooms.
