I could not survive without unlimited text. I barely ever call anyone.

I hate calling people I don't know on the phone (the rise of online food ordering was great), but I HATE talking to people I know via text. You cannot understand tone and emotion thru text/email the way you can an actual conversation. I also think people like text because they can say things at you and not necessarily hear what you are saying in response.
I don't know, apparently I'm old fashioned. I don't understand why that is the preferred method for people, its so removed from the other person and impersonal!

@Chaosmaven: I'm actually the complete opposite. I sit in a bullpen/cube farm so I can't call anyone at work. I ride the subway to work so I can't call anyone on my commute. So it's actually insanely difficult to find time to actually call someone, whereas I can text anytime!

I have unlimited text, couldn't imagine not having it. For me it depends, sometimes texting is way more convenient if you just have a quick question for someone, other times it takes wayyyy longer constantly responding to texts when a phone convo could have been quicker. I do both. I love my weekly group texts with my best girlfriends though, that is always entertaining.

@hotchildinthecity: That makes sense. When I worked, I was in a cube farm, but I didn't take personal calls until after work or on my lunch break. A quick text to update or for an emergency is different than using it to have an actual conversation.

I love texting because I'm in different time zones than my best friend and family, and we both work weird hours. So this way as long as we know the other person is awake we can keep a delayed conversation going through the day when each person has a chance to chime in! And we keep a group text for the grandparents to send photo updates to make it easy to stay in touch with LO.

texting. It seems like a lot of my friends, I've never actually talked to on the phone, HAHA. I think texting just fits our busy lifestyles. I can't talk at work, but I can send a few texts. i also email my good friends. Can't really talk around E, but can send a few texts while making dinner. Plus people go to bed early or late....just works!

I actually have a 90s style flip phone on a pay as you go plan. So. It is really hard to text! Ugh! So... email me?

My last job ruined phone calls for me - I greatly dislike them! I much prefer text and have unlimited texting.

Pre babies: call me, I would much rather have a conversation. I'm huge on sarcasm and bad jokes and it doesn't interpret well over text
Post babies: text me. I just don't have the time to talk. I hate calling to say "hey, how was your date" only to have to cut you off every five seconds when my toddler wants to talk on the phone too or my son wants help flipping the other way. I hope to have real conversations in 5 years when the kids are in school. Haha

@Greentea: I didn't think about adding an email option to the poll, sorry. I didn't enjoy texting on the number pad! Oh how times have changed.

I talk on the phone all day at work so it's the last thing I want to do at home- unless it's important, then you better call!
I do feel, though, that if texting came before calling we would all be like, "omg I love being able to actually talk to the person and hear their voice!"

I dislike texts. It's not so much that I have to pay extra for them, as that the format feels like an email that is expected to be answered right away. I don't really want that in my life.
However, I text with a few friends to make plans because that's how they seem to like to communicate. I try to be flexible.

Unlimited texts and I prefer texting. The only people I call are my mom and grandma. I text my girlfriend and also a SAHM throughout the day and it's nice because I feel like I get adult conversation but can respond when its convenient for me.

I used 8 minutes of talk time last billing period. All about the texting.

I have unlimited texting but could probably get by with a smaller plan. I don't talk on the phone much and hate talking on the phone but also don't text that many people. I use email more for work and school. I don't like being chained to my phone and not that many people have my number.
